We better get permission to film! The camera's we have are specially converted full spectrum night vision ones with 12V external infrared lamps attached. A very clear black and white image in 100% darkness, no light sources required. So wont interrupt anyone around us. They see pitch blackness.

They have allowed the scare rooms to be filmed in the past. So hopefully you'll be allowed to film the experience! It would be a shame if they ban cameras outright.
Agree with other comments that this is undoubtedly an unique experience. But for the price it's just really pushing it a bit. Nice idea, ridiculous price. I have nothing against those who pay for it though, you'll get a great experience out of it.
Will be interesting to see what other sleeping arrangements will be like.

It was kinda obvious those beds would be used for guests paying for this experience. The set is already there, the beds are there, the lighting is there.. cheaper for Towers to use a section of a maze for that.Alton Towers Facebook Page, Also the video raises my original thought of using the Sanctuary beds

Just a comment I'd like to make on the park lighting,
GU10 high quality outdoor spotlights can now be bought from places like ebay for just under £10 each, now if Towers bought a few of these and installed them in the trees around Gloomy Wood and Katanga Canyon, you can also install gels on these so they would look great coloured too!
They already have some in the shrubbery alongside the Battle Galleons, however I can't say I've ever seen these work!

Good idea, but in the 2013 TT Q&A Pete Cliff countered a similar proposal by talking about the fact that it isn't just a matter of gelling a light, they actually need to buy the coloured halogen bulbs which usually cost between 80 and 300 pounds each, mainly for H&S reasons, and lighting is essentially an ongoing project with more added each year. Shame really as lighting can basically make or break the event.Just a comment I'd like to make on the park lighting,

We also have the age old planning issue surrounding permanent lighting... Only a certain percentage of the park can use permanent lights to combat the issue of light pollution in the surrounding area.
This is why the park relies on so many generators. Hopefully we will see some coloured lighting from the gennies this year though!
(we can dream, right?)

Interestingly Towers seem to be doing its best to badly market a new SF experience. There is an Altonville 2 hour scare experience, it's £40pp seems to be based on the old scare room story and includes a 2 course meal and 2 hours of story lead scares.
Apparently it's going in the gardens/ Swiss Cottage and seems to be a condensed scare room experience.
Dunno why they are hiding this.
