Fireworks 2014

I think the question is not if they will burn it down, but on which night. I put £5 on the roof getting lit on Friday. Then a further £2.50 on them moving the 'Woosher' for Saturday and Sunday so that it continually rains on the hobbit hut, thus making the show projectionless and much more confusing.

Umm... just seen the pic of the fireworks preparations on TS Facebook page. It looks like the VIP area has moved...

its now smack bang in the middle of the grass area, and about double the size of last years. If I recall last year it was close to the path, at the back of the grass area and more towards battle galleons. So thats less room now on the grass for people, plus it completely blocks out the view for anyone stood behind it. Well done Towers. Bravo.

Wow, surely not in the middle of the lawns!? It worked really well on the left; it was easy access, had a great view and didn't obstuct anyone else's view.

:)

I wonder if they're going to be putting something up to stop the lower class plebians from flinging poo at the landed gentry?

Bit crap that they've moved it - as it was ideally located last year.

Having said this I can't see it having too much of an affect on views since it's not raised up at all. My only concern would be if the VIP facilities are also on that area - the area directly behind would be blocked from seeing anything.

Its raised enough to prevent hordes of people behind that entire area being able to see properly when you consider the number of "VIPs" stood up on there. Obviously they are expecting larger numbers this year.

Everyone was sitting down in the VIP area last year, I assume it will be the same again this year.

:)

It's a seated area.

So, I defend the utter {EXPLETIVES} a few posts ago, for offering a sensible {EXPLETIVES} position for a nice little posh area for those {EXPLETIVES} stupid enough to pay for a glass of fizz an overpriced cob and a chair, obviously the {EXPLETIVES} realised this was not {EXPLETIVES} impacting on normal {EXPLETIVES} guest experiences enough so had to {EXPLETIVES} move the {EXPLETIVES} VIP area into an {EXPLETIVES} area more {EXPLETIVES} suitable to {EXPLETIVES} everyone else off who {EXPLETIVES} dare not {EXPLETIVES} pay some ludicrous {EXPLETIVES} upcharge for {EXPLETIVES} minimal extras.

{EXPLETIVES} you Merlin you {EXPLETIVES} {EXPLETIVES} and whatever {EXPLETIVES} thought up this {EXPLETIVES} stupid {EXPLETIVES} idea!!!!

So you're not a fan, @TheMan ?

As long as the whole area isn't cordoned off like at concerts, and those barriers are moved a bit closer, this could be bearable. Just. Most of the fireworks explode high in the sky and there are speaker arrays up Towers Street so the experience shouldn't be impacted too much.

It's still utter codswallop, but it could be worse. It could be a raised platform.

I know it doesn't look great in that photo but unless you stand right behind the viewing area it will have a very minimal impact on other's fireworks experience. When it is pitch black there is every chance it will blend into the crowds anyway, plus you will be looking up and across the lake not down and in front of the lake.

:)

I'm sure it's been mentioned somewhere but what time does the firework display start?

So is the O2, but everyone stands.

As I said, everyone in the VIP area did sit down last year. You actually get a better and more comfortable view sitting back in your seat looking up at the show.

:)

Oh hell no that's not on at all. So all the lower class guests now have to stand either left or right and at the back? I don't know whether to bring a Vendetta mask and some bangers or just unleash verbal fury in guest services. Not letting them get away with that after the prices I've paid for tickets.
