2019: Rulantica

Most importantly, will they keep its somewhat creative name or turn it into an even more bland and boring incarnation along with the ten year paint job?

Has there been any word about where this new Romanian/Croatian area could be and what the timescale is?

The Europa-Park Water Park is one size smaller
The planned water park Europa-Park is initially a smaller number. "The project has continued to evolve," Michael Kreft said of Byern of the Company's management on Tuesday.

RING HOME / RUST. From the initial planning of a larger, enclosed bathing hall had been taken from a distance, said Michael Kreft of Byern at the beginning of the meeting by the association, tourism services Leisure ring home / Rust (ZVT).The development step is too large, the cost is too high. Instead, to create a smaller hall with an area of 19,000 square meters. At the same time in the first phase, a hotel would be built, similar to the Bell Rock (but no pool), because the demand for overnight stays was very high and the region this could not pacify, so Kreft of Byern. should in further steps the outside (outdoor pool) developed and the indoor range can be extended. More flexibility and less challenge to the infrastructure were associated with it. This also reducing water consumption. The fear that the drinking water is running out will, according to Kreft not shared by Byern from consultant Peter Sackmann, as powerful ring lines absichere the communities. "The water supply of the park will be done with its own well." It was in constructive cooperation with the district office, the first holes have brought good results, possibly with drinking water quality. Rainwater to drain due to seepage, reduce waste water by modern technology and then fed to the association collectors in Kappel. According to the authorities responsible for the zoning planner Holger Fischer lacked the development plan, which should be completed in January 2015, only the technical paper conservation. "We are still in the field, the growing season is our scope," said Gerhard Babik, planners for ecology and conservation, "the first results are expected in November." To solve the main problem is particularly bats and breeding birds.

"If Rust is tight, the knights street is the umbilical cord."Mayor Kai-Achim Clear
Considerable attention in the discussion was the future traffic management - especially for the incoming visitor traffic via a bypass for prolonged Knight Street - a. Falling visitor numbers low, could dispense with an underpass Knights Street and visitor traffic are connected via a roundabout. "The Knight Street will suffer," argued Councillor Elke-Maria Ringwald from Rust because the Rust would stand on the way to the motorway at the roundabout in traffic. The fear was shared by Mayor Kai-Achim Clear:. "If Rust is tight, the knights street is the umbilical cord" A ring network of bicycle paths will open up the area for cyclists, so the design of Peter Sackmann, who mentioned that the principles of the transport authority have been agreed: "We failed in the planning going on." A further unbundling of traffic will bring the expansion of the extended motorway junction at ring home, after the project had come to a halt by an administrative court proceedings in another case, said Michael Thoma, the lawyer of the European Parkes. The incoming traffic from the south makes the eastern bypass roundabout for extended jams. With a direct access to the county road congestion should be avoided. Responsible for the project was no longer the district office, but the Government of Freiburg. During the first half of 2017 included Michawl Kreft of Byern with the opening of the first portion of the water park (first indoor hall and hotel). But before then are the peer reviewers and the licensing authorities at the train.

Have the plans been made smaller for it then? :/

For some size perspective Colosseo is around 13,000 square metres (Or so the maps are telling me!). The entire Splash complex is roughly the same. Alton Towers Waterpark without the Hotel is 9000 roughly.

Reading the article I can gather that they plan to open the Hotel in phase 1 with the initial water park, but I can't work out of they're saying 19,000 is for the whole lot (Hotel and park). If they're going for a waterpark hotel I'd personally have thought they'd share the building like Splash?..

Stattdessen soll eine kleinere Halle mit einer Fläche von 19 000 Quadratmetern entstehen. Zugleich werde in der ersten Phase ein Hotel gebaut...

Instead of that a smaller building with an area of 19,000 m² will be built. Together with that a hotel will be constructed in the first phase...

I think the 19,000 m² are only for the water park. The article says that it will be completely indoor in the first phase. Later they plan to extend it continuously with outdoor parts. The hotel will be similar to bell rock but with no extra pool.

:)

RU lantica you say...

Shantay Roland, you stay.

More information will be released about the water park on 14 January.

Will this be a thread to watch tomorrow?

There will be a presentation tomorrow evening at 18:00GMT which focuses mainly on ecology.

Unsure if anything meaty will surface...

Update: 15.1.14

A consultation meeting was held last night regarding ecological issues of the new water park. Issues discussed included light pollution, wildlife etc. It really does sound like a bureaucratic nightmare - I can barely see this opening for 2017 at this rate.

However, a few new previously unspecified things have come to light regarding the current plans:

- 20,000 square metres indoor area (AT water park for reference is 3,760 square metres)
- Outdoor are also planned, although smaller than indoor area
- First hotel in similar scale to Bell Rock
- The final amended plans will be completed by April (they have been changed several times)
- There will be space for a 2nd hotel
- There will be space for significant expansion of the water park

Erweiterung = Expansion Space

Crikey, it's a lot further from the rest of the park than I thought. Surely this needs some kind of transport link to the hotels and park entrance? I'd hope for an EP Express extention, or even a new line, but even for EP that's pushing it. :(

There will be transport - although probably by road.

:)

Yeah, I'm expecting it to be the Mackmobiles they use between the entrance and Tipidorf. But it's just not the same. :(

My image skills are crude at best, but with a little help from @Kelpie, I've knocked up this:

It really does show how the park is slowly expanding to surround Rust. In another 40 years, There won't be a town left! :p

I'm currently attempting to work out if there is any practical route a new monorail could take...

Did you do that in GIMP? Looks like it ;)

How expensive are monorails? Could they build a new, separate loop from Bell Rock or Colosseo?

Yes Dar, as you will have gathered from Facebook, I am not a fan of GIMP.

But anyway, I have finally managed to get it working well enough to sketch out one possible way to extend the existing EP Express...

The green line is the existing track, red is my idea. They could extend it using points (so that some trains can stay on the original route) after the hotel station, and follow the road to the new hotel and water park. A possible location of a new station is the red box. (Obviously this isn't an exact plan as no one knows what they will be building).
On the return leg, it might even be possible to have a station at bell Rock, shown in orange. This would make getting between the existing hotels and the water park much easier, as otherwise you would have to do a lap of the whole park to get from the water park to the hotel station.

ETA: Regarding the expense of monorails, click here for information on the Disney system, or click here for a comparison of other monorails (sadly it doesn't seem to include Von Roll).

It is a shame that this proposed development is quite some way (relatively speaking) from the main resort. It does almost make it like a second mini-resort. There's a chance they could have used land nearer to the park but chances are they are saving that for other future developments.

I'm sure there will be good links to the waterpark though. It will likely be a bus at first and hopefully there might be a nice and safe walkway for those that fancy a stroll. Then in the future once the resort has grown further they may look into a monorail extension although that would cost a lot.

:)

If they did go with that design I'd consider turning the trains around on the monorail. That way guests staying in the park can get off at Spain. Then Bell Rock as one station, Waterpark, Main Hotel before back into the park.

That would be good although it won't be on the cards.

If Walt Disney World are happy bussing people around...

:)

I don't think it's too far away from te main resort, although I'm still trying to place it - is it behind Lidl?
