Best guess I can think of is the support beams. The track has to support a heavy train and the supports have to hold the trains and the heavy track, so they have to be chunky enough to hold it and foundationed(?) enough to support it!

That's serious money.
Dynamic Attractions (yes them again) have done work with Monorails, I guess it's more like a proper transport system, if you consider a mile of coaster track. Think about The Smiler, it only has small trains, really some pretty basic electronics (relatively speaking) and the supports can be, well, look at it
A monorail is way more substantial and a proper mode of public transportation. 30 odd million quid a mile? Does seem a lot but I can understand why taken in context I think.

It would be a lot cheaper if they could build as much as possible side by side so one set of supports holds the outbound and return track, or use a switch track and operate the water park link as a shuttle service.
Realistically a monorail extension isn't feasible though, it would cost way too much when all they really need is one bus going back and forth.

But not everyone will be moving between the sites, the main link will need to be between the existing hotels and the water park so a bus will be fine

A few things about the waterpark following on from an interview with Roland Mack:
How far the project has progressed?
Mack: We are all doing well, through the detailed planning and the process. If there are no major problems, we expect the building permit by the end of this, early next year. Then we decide when to start with the construction work. During the winter season in 2018 would be the earliest date.
If the water park built in one piece or expand it gradually?
Mack: We build it in one piece through, but he will be expanded in all directions - both in indoor and in Outdorfläche and hotels. We start with a hotel complex, two more locations would be possible. Everything is designed very intelligent. The total area is 34 acres, about one-third will be built in the first step.
The water park is the largest investment in the 40-year history of the park. Prise the own power?
Mack: Yes. But funding is not a problem, we have the confidence of the banks. To limit the risks, we will remain in the initial stage in the low hundreds of millions. Much of the money is there in the infrastructure - in roads, parking lots, in the water supply and sanitation.
You will need a lot of energy. How should the site be powered?
Mack: Energy is the cost factor per se in this project. So it looks like so far, we are essentially working with gas-fired cogeneration plants. We have performed tests and can use them optimally.

Unfortunately i'm way behind on the discussion of this thing, whereabouts is the water park complex planned to be located in the grand scheme of things?

- Confirmation of a phase 1 budget of €140m (£104m)
- 12,000 square metre indoor area (I reckon this is about 5x the size of Alton Towers Waterpark) + smaller outdoor area
- Sauna and spa
- 300 room hotel (similar number of rooms to Bell Rock)
- Initial capacity of 5,000 guests. Long term increase to 8,000 guests.
- 10 year development plan from opening to increase size and attractions

Certainly going to look very imposing! I reckon some sort of Scandinavian theme is definitely on the cards with that.
