2016: Ireland

I received a general email the other day that had the picture above posted on the bottom of it. Definitely looks like a kids area themed to Ireland is on the cards.
I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. On the one hand I've long been looking forward to them adding Ireland. The location is perfect and no doubt it will have the fairytale style I was hoping for (due to it being aimed at children). But I'm concerned it could be too kid focused. It would be nice if a few years down the line they add a couple of slightly grown up aspects to the area to capture Ireland's mature side.
We'll just have to wait and see.

I was thinking something more along the lines of 'Fun Land' from Father Ted myself, D.Guinness: The Ride?![]()

That would make bluefire helix basically. What if they repaint the entire park green and rename Blue fire to Green Fire?

Yes.That would make bluefire helix basically.
... Except for the layout. And the theming. And the music. And the terrain. And the number of launches.

It's nice that the children's area will be getting a theme next season. It's always annoyed me that is feels a bit of a cheap area and one area of the park that lacks a real theme. Also good that it's next to the English area. I do hope it's not just aimed at children or at least has development plans for more family rides in the future.

I can't find anything official from EP, but parkerlebnis.de are reporting details of the re-theme of the current Childrens World to Ireland:
So in summary it sounds like:

parkerlebnis.de said:The topic "Children's World" at Europa-Park will be expanded extensively - for now 14 European theme, "Ireland". Planned are new rides and a versatile indoor area.
The Europa-Park unveiled its now 14 European listing: Ireland. For this, there will be some changes in the existing children's theme. With the words "We are making the Europa-Park green!" Announced the theme park to a few weeks ago to try to introduce in 2016 a new "world of children". Well first details are known, what visitors can expect in the future.
The biggest change is a planned indoor area. Under its roof to visitors find both a children's playground as well as a café and a souvenir shop.
Also new rides will be available in the "Children's World" or the new "Ireland". On the one hand is a kind of ship rocking, planned on the other hand a "Kinderzugfahrt" in the form of an "8" with the train station, so reports the Badische Zeitung from a presentation of the Europa-Park opposite the local building committee. Finally, a new show with the Europa-Park mascot Ed Euro Mouse and his friends is planned under the theme "Ireland".
Previously available on the topic "Children's World" a dinosaur carousel, a Hubseilturm that water attractions Children launches and canoe trip and a small show stage.
The topic "Ireland" is scheduled to open in the spring of 2016

So in summary it sounds like:

Oooh, possible extention of EPE??? Seems odd to extend it at that end when the water park is goung on the opposite side of the resort.
It doesn't sound like an extension - just a re-routing over the old Science House land to free up some space.

Probably statin' the bleedin' obvious, but the graphic implies that one of the rides will be a Postman Pat-style tractor ride.
Intrigued about this EP-Express rework. I wonder if it's to widen Deutsche Allee (it's getting a bit cramped for the size of the park) or to build a big new hotel on the site of Guesthouse Rolando and behind. Or something else.
