Who wants more than 14 loops?

14 is too many IMO.

And yes they do age badly.
I find that with the smiler, where there is potential for good air time, or a powerful turn, they added an inversion. If you were to replace, maybe, 5 or 6 of the inventions you would get a much better ride IMO. Nemesis has a variety of stall turns and helixes, things the smiler lack

I like The Smiler's loops. It's a mad rush of loop after loop in a tight space. Fits in with the theme well too.

I think it works with the theme and uses the space well, but all I'm saying is that nemesis will always be better for me as it has more.

What do yous think duels future is. I think considering its building I expect it to stay due to lack of decent replacements except for a dark ride which could happen in 2018/19.

I've never been a huge fan of Duel. I preferred the Haunted House.

IMO a complete overhaul of a good scary Ghost Train. Modernised.

Also someone mention about not having any coasters in Katanga....

....I think a revamped Runaway Mine Train would be great. Almost like 13 but using the mine train theme and having quite a long ride like the RMT.

I like the mine train idea adds both family and thrill to a conventional theme park ride could be a real winner for towers

I think katanga canyon is good at the moment, a family flat would be a great addition though.

Duel is really good IMO, but could be much better (if the effects actually worked), I think if it was all working, it would be a world class dark ride. I do like going round without the blazers, but I also love it when I absolutely obliterate my friends score (every time). I never went in the haunted house, so I can't compare it, and I don't know how good it could be, but IMO, it is a quality ride.

In this thread, we seem to be forgetting another ride that I don't believe has long left, enterprise. We keep saying that blade and ripsaw will go soon, but (to a slightly lesser extent) enterprise is In danger of being removed. It is down most days, and very rarely makes it though a day without a breakdown.

Enterprise wont have long length but that would leave very few flats at the park.

Blade, ripsaw and enterprise will likely leave very soon, leaving only toadstool, which is quite old too.

How long does toadstool have left? I can't really see it leaving anytime soon.

I didn't even know that was still there???

Last time I saw it was in Ug Land

Alton is just going to eventually turn into a coaster park if these flats keep dropping like Oblivion.

In terms of primary and secondary rides at the resort before they're removed, here's what I expect:

Coasters
Nemesis 20 years or more
Oblivion 20 years or more
Air 15 years or more
Thirteen at least 15 years
Rita 10-15 years remaining
Smiler 10-15 years (or immediate removal if another major incident occurs)
Runaway Mine Train 10 years or more
Octonauts 15 years or more
Spinball up to 5 years

Dark rides
Hex 10 years or more
Duel somewhere around 10 years
Sub terra somewhere around 5 years
Charlie 5 years or less

Water rides
Congo 10 years or more
Flume 5 years or less

Flats
Enterprise around 3 years left
Ripsaw 2 years or less
Toadstool 5 years or more
Blade on borrowed time

These are only speculation
