Fireworks 2017

To be fair there probably were a small number still left at 9am and these have now all gone.

:)

I wonder how many disappointed guest who haven't pre-booked will still turn up over the weekend to find out that they can't gain entry?

I've been told that we don't need our two pre-booked tickets that we have purchased to gain entry (Saturday) as we are Hotel guest. So there might be room for two more guests ;)

£100 for 4 people ? tis megga cheep ! where else you gonna get a bed and yummy breakfast for £25 ?

I didn’t notice it was for four.

And Premier Inn. We had one night B&B for two for £60, breakfast was at least as good as AT and the room was better as standard room had air conditioning.

I was pleasantly suprised by today! The park was busy but not unbearable, the atmosphere was great! Customer service was excellent and a stunning fireworks display! Roll on next season! :)

I agree, I thought the park handled the crowds much better than they did last year. The food outlets seemed to cope a lot better with the demand during the evening in the hour or so before the fireworks.

I don’t know what the gate figure was compared to last year but it was a lot more tolerable and the atmosphere was nicer.

Unfortunately I wasn’t massively bowled over by the display itself - it may have just been me but I thought the audio was far far too loud. The bass pumping through my chest was starting to make me feel sick and my ears were ringing within 5 minutes of the display starting, we weren’t standing that close to a speaker either. Bizarre as that wasn’t something I’ve ever had the previous 6 years. At some points I thought the volume made the speech a bit too loud to decipher as well.

Hearing John Wardley was a nice surprise though!

The park was much, much quieter than this time last year, seemed to be well below 20k on park and (as is often the case) significantly quieter than the final scarefest weekends, but with the park geared up for more people with extra staff and additional food outlets, so a much better all-round guest experience. My ride count for the day was 13, not bad for Saturday of fireworks.

I wasn't keen on the show, the fireworks themselves were arguably better than the last few years, but I didn't like the use of all the vox pops - it just seemed a bit too self-congratulatory.

Dire. It's in the name "Fireworks", yet it seemed like they forgot to bring them; mainly a laser and light show. Sure the larger shells were great, but there was a minimal wow factor to this. Wheeling out Wardley and Pete Cliff felt like a bit of an insult to top off what was essentially a collection of glorified Trip Advisor reviews.

These shows have been slowly declining ever since 2013 (with somewhat of an exception for 15). The themes have become weaker and the fireworks themselves have been gradually used less and less. I genuinely fear for how lacklustre next year's will be.

Operationally today however the park did very well. Lots of great organisation in the lead up and executed across the resort.

Having watched a video of the show, I like the idea they had of taking about memories and good times. In fact the music in places and the concept when telling of the old rides reminded me of the far superior firework event the year smiler opened. For me that is still to this day the one to beat.

Not too sure about the gaps in between the fireworks with just people speaking ....... Although I guess it needed to go quiet to let people hear the voices. Hearing JW speak at the start was a surprise.

Looked ok though, if a little subdued from previous years. And looking at the ride times today it looks like the park really pulled their finger out with operations today .

My god what an absolute borefest. Just watched a video of it and I’m so glad I’m missing it this year.

There seems to be a little more pyro content throughout the length of the show compared to last year, probably due to saving a few grand by not having a video screen but that doesn’t make up for what is the most unimaginative show since the days of the pop-mashup-ear-rape years.

Call themselves a “theme” park. Whatever.

Jubilee’s choreography and choice of product were spot on as usual however.

Not really a fan of the talking in between, someone in the crowd could be heard saying they thought they came for fireworks not reviews.

Queues were pretty decent but something must have gone wrong with fastrack allocations as Rita closed it’s fastrack due to too many people.

Rita fastrack queue always goes mental when they open dark forest box office.
I don’t know why
