2018: Eurosat Can Can Coaster / Madame Freudenreich Curiosités

I feel that VR only gets so much hate because it complicates an otherwise solid ride. Make it an optional add-on which can break down without affecting everyone else’s riding experience and there is no issue.

For EuroSat if only 1 in 6 trains are being used and factoring in the second station then that’s no worse than a Fastrack queue at any other park.

It’s noteworthy that, with Moulin Rouge being added to Eurosat, another IP is being introduced to Europa-Park.

Is it an IP in the traditional sense, or is it just called 'Red Mill'? Do the films link to the cabaret in any way?

Although there is some sort of partnership with the Moulin Rouge, I'm not sure I would class it as an IP. It's a ride themed around a French dance that is performed at the cabaret, therefore they have opted for a partnership which will probably benefit both EP and the Moulin Rouge.

:)

Lots of places have replicas of the Moulin Rouge. They've got one at Legoland.

I'd not really call this an IP. They probably shook hands for the family photo album more than anything else.

Great Uncle Heinrich Mack at the meeting.

Well, it shouldn't actually have any effect on throughput presuming that around 1 in 6 riders choose to go on the VR version instead of the main ride (therefore making the queue for the main ride a sixth shorter, discounting the bump in ridership of any new-ish ride), unlike Fastrack where they're taking the place of someone in the queue for the same ride. If you see what I mean.

I do see what you mean. I guess it depends how popular the VR is, and if it’s pay extra would one in 6 people still use it?

The new ride will be around 10% lower capacity.

There is one less row.

Wait, so EP, who are the biggest throughput freaks of all time... are REDUCING throughput on an attraction? Now this is a turn up for the books!

They have little choice on the matter. The trains will be the same length as before, however because of new restraint systems, on board audio and wanting to give riders a little more leg room it is only possible to have 7 cars per train. I'm confident that the throughput will still be good enough!

:)

Artwork has been posted on the Europa Park website for "Madame Freudenreich Curiosites" that I haven't seen in here:

As part of the renovation work, visitors can also look forward to further alternations and innovations in the French themed area. The world of Madame Freudenreich, with her Alsatian souvenir and curiosity shop inside a traditional timber-framed lhouse, will replace the previous attraction 'Universe of Energy'.

The visitors will have the chance to discover many prehistoric artefacts from these great giants of the past. Then, heading past Dino-Selfies with Ms. Freudenreich and down to the former wine cellar, visitors will find a dinosaur breeding farm amidst a lush garden, where the Dinos are fed with delicious Gugelhupf and many surprises are waiting to be discovered

I absolutely don't have 100 quid to spend on a roller coaster wheel.

I absolutely am spending 100 quid on a roller coaster wheel, aren't I?

Then spending the next week sleeping on the couch.

It’s pretty clear that the dinosaurs from the old ride are going to be reused. I can’t help but wonder how they fit in with the story though. Shoe-horning at its worst?

3 scenes are being changed completely, the rest will be refreshed. The dinos are indeed staying though, which is good as they're some of the most impressive animatronics at EP!

:)

They are also some of the oldest, most out-of-date-representations-of-dinosaurs-since-filmakers-glued-spikes-to-an-iguana I have ever seen.
Hopefully they will keep the inner workings but replace the outer skin with something a bit more up to date. Feathered dinos, anyone?
