Love this site for the quality of the discussion...
One last point, getting back on topic...
How many coasters will break down on opening day then?
Not going to go on opening day this year due to work, but I always love watching the Revolution train being towed back into the station.
Managed to valley out the Big One on the early openings as well last year.

Can always sit it out in The Velvet Coaster... hell I love Wetherspoons almost as much as I love theme parks!

How much did you guys with a season pass pay for renewal this season? I’ve just bought our family passes for this year £99.99 each and was wondering if there are renewal rates. The price for them now is something insane like £190

There were lots of rumours swirling about what was happening to Coasters as a catering outlet now that Icon is being built right in front of it.

Has anyone heard or seen anything further? I liked the pieces of old artwork and history in there, so it would be a shame to see this disappear, but I know BPB have previous on cleansing some of their history. It’s also noteworthy that it’s probably the most outdated of BPB’s catering outlets now, so should be due for an overhaul anyway.

Last I heard at the end of last season was it was going to be gutted and redone as (another) champagne bar.
Stunning view of the new ride...VIP area etc.

To be fair the nearest champagne available is at least 15 steps away in the coffee/champagne bar across the pathway.

I'd imagine that one will close or be used for a different purpose.

Looked from the latest photos Amanda Thompson put on Twitter of Icon they were doing some work on the building.

Good spot. Zooming in to some of the pictures it’s clear that the semi-circular oriel windows on the side of the restaurant are definitely gone, along with the rest of the facade above the windows which has been stripped.

So there’s definitely something happening. I just hope they serve something decent besides champagne and some of that great artwork from the old restaurant is retained and reused.

Hopefully at least some new old artwork. They looked to be stripping the place bare on the final Sunday of the season.

Wonder if they'll be able to restore access to the toilets underneath?

Yes I would hope that they keep all the framed pictures, or if they don’t want them that they’d be sold or auctioned off. Some great pics from over the years in there. Who knows what will happen to the Waltzer / Dodgem car tables though. To be honest I enjoyed those pictures and the view out of the waltzer table windows more than the actual food
