Thanks Rob. I noticed Shawn's were branded with Cedar Point, I'm guessing Alton don't sell any branded or non-branded ones?
Not that I am awarw of!
Me and my best friend Katie are going to Alton Towers in July. We both wear and need glasses. We are a bit worried that if we go on fast rides; (e.g: Nemesis, Rita and Oblivion), our glasses will come off
. I did have a thought that I should take a small bag to hold my phone, money and glasses but if we take our glasses off, we'd both miss the beauty of Nemesis
. I've read we can get these 'straps' for our glasses. Where can you buy them? Are they worth the money or should we just take our glasses off? Thx.

I ended up buying a strap from Asda in their opticians. £2 for a non-elastic strap but it allows you to pull the ends far up on the arms of the glasses to pull it tight.
Worked perfectly on all coasters
and wearing glasses is great on front row of Nemesis, deflects the air out of your eyes!

Me and the missus are going to AT next Tuesday. We are travelling 3 hours each way and it will probably be our only trip to AT this year, so we will be getting Platinum Fastracks to make the most of the day.
My question is.. where is the best place to get the fastrack tickets?
Is it worth buying them online in advance?
Just trying to avoid a second massive queue for the fastrack tickets after entrance, if at all possible
Thanks in advance

I was on park on Thursday and Friday last week and to be honest, I don't think you will need Fastrack. I certainly wouldn't buy in advance, leave it until the day and judge the queues. We got on everything and the most we queued was about 40 mins for Wicker Man. There could be a few more school/uni trips next week which may make it a bit buiser but you're going on a Tuesday and I'd have thought most trips would be Thursdays or Fridays. I didn't realise until I was there that it was still half-term last week for some kids - but that didn't make much of a difference to how busy it was.Me and the missus are going to AT next Tuesday. And a tip for Wicker Man, get on it first thing if the queue isn't too bad, then get back on it at queue closing time, the difference in the ride intensity is huge!

We are staying at Splash Landings for one night.
How / where is the walk to the park if we wanted to avoid the Monorail? I assume the monorail is still busy for ERT?
Thanks![]()
Thanks to poor operations the Monorail is indeed often busy. To walk, go past the Monorail station and by Extraordinary Golf, then carry on down the new path that runs along the side of the car park leading towards Forbidden Valley, turn right at the end and just keep following the path/walkways until you get to the entrance. It usually takes about 10-15 minutes.
I’m back at Alton Towers next Saturday - I was wondering if the whole entrance plaza problem has been sorted?
Aiming to arrive at the Plaza for 9am and collect some Friends & Family Passes and get into the park for 9:30am ERT. Should this be achievable or am I going to need extra time? Do they now check whether a ticket is Fast Track or not?

How busy do people anticipate the park to be on week days for the next fortnight? Not too sure went school trip season will properly kick in. Thanks

The queues this seasons have more to do with poor ride operations and staggard opening times. I would say the sooner you visit the better, this week if possible, you should also be ok the week later. School trips have already started a few weeks ago and Alton was alright just over week ago when I visited despite having school trips there. The closer you get to the summer holidays, the worse the school trips will be, especially the 2 weeks leading up to the holidays, so you should avoid. On the plus side, school tips don't usually purchase fast tracks, so that could be you last option even though I don't agree with fast tracks

Which is the quieter day to visit Towers? Saturday or Sunday?
Sundays are usually quieter than Saturdays.
