Judging by the level of mistakes that come out of my sons school on official documents authorised by the heads, I'd hazard a guess that upper management are signing off on stuff like this at Alton. Several years (OK decades) ago a trend started in some businesses where upper management took over everything because "there was no need for xxx, we know what we're doing", sadly most upper management are not Kimi Raikkonen.

It seems Alton Towers is rising back on its feet! So nice to see my favourite park getting back on track. Just a few more things could be done maybe *cough cough* CCL *cough cough*

Attempted to give feedback just after 1pm, couldn’t leave positive or negative, would only allow region and postcode to be entered and then yes or no if wanted to receive marketing emails. Guess they’ve had that much positive feedback they don’t need anymore

Park was busiest I’ve seen since fireworks and even Duel had a queue :D

What’s the deal on Nemesis on not rushing to dispatch? You sit in the station after all the seat checks and hosts just stood with thumbs up for good half min. Used to be rapid service.

On the plus side was great to get free express parking again.

Oh and those sheds look even worse in person

The park was very busy yesterday, by far the busiest that I have seen it outside of Scarefest and Fireworks since June 2015. Cars were parked on the meadows, although it should be remembered that quite a lot of car parking capacity for the park has been losted with the Enchanted Village development.

F&B seemed to cope fairly well which did surprise me. Thirteen and The Smiler did not! Had a good day overall though, I got on all major coasters bar The Smiler including Nemesis and Wicker Man twice.

It remains a pity that the Rapids capacity is severely reduced leading to stupidly long queues for a ride that is not a patch on what it was before the stupid H&S changes. I have only been on it once this season I think yet it is one of my favourite rides at the park.

:)

Christ it was busy yesterday! We managed to get The Smiler and “would-have-been” Oblivion done straight away, if Oblivion hadn’t have broken down, followed by Thirteen and Rita, all before 11am. I didn’t realise that the Skyride didn’t open til 12 (thought it was 11), so if we’d have got a stomp on and managed to get to the Valley instead of faffing about, I’m fairly confident we could have done Nemesis and Galactica pretty quickly too. Just, the afternoon was heaving!

I was on park yesterday too, and I will also admit that the park was extremely busy yesterday!

However, my family and I had an awesome day at the park! All of the effects were working in The Smiler's indoor queue line, as well as a bonus strobe! Thirteen's tesla coil was working too! Wicker Man's shoulder fire wasn't working, unfortunately, but the mist was on full pelt, as I got wetter from that mist yesterday than I ever have before! The pre-show was working perfectly, too!

We also fared quite well in terms of ride count, getting on 6 rides in around 6 hours spent on park! The only slight downer was that Wicker Man broke down for 30-45 minutes while we were queueing for it, but we got on it in the end! And I experienced it in the front row for the first time! It was awesome!

New member here, I too have noticed this on Nemesis, but also inferno at Thorpe has been like this. Maybe more "safety" protocols?

Went this morning. Traffic towards the park was backing up on the road towards Cheadle when I left a couple of hours ago. Seems like people are getting their last couple of days in with the kids.

On park at the min, it’s very busy but not unbearable. Wicker Man advertised a 70min wait but we were on in under 50. Galactica operating with 2 stations but no VR at all, very fast dispatches. Operations across the park are decent overall. Also, ride close has been extended twice. First to 1800, then later to 1830. The member of staff batching on Galactica said he’d never heard of that being done before.

Not surprised to see th13teen with the highest queue at the moment :(
I really don't trust the ridetimes site after my last visit however

I'm going on Thursday. Hoping it's a fairly quiet day with all kids being back in school. Hoping to get plenty of re-rides on WM, Smiler n Nemmy.

Operations could be suspect though I guess with it being off peak. Wouldn't shock me if the staggering comes back and rears its ugly head.

I'd be staggered if they did

^ I see what you did there.

TowersStreet reported on Facebook today that the staggered openings aren't returning, which is something to be grateful of :).

I wouldn't have hooked about it otherwise. Only been twice this year mainly because of this.
