I like to check the week before I go to get an idea.
Imagine my horror when I check two Thursdays ago to see it all green then turn up on Park a week later for it to be in the red

I remember shortly after the incident, seeing and hearing Nick Varney on the news saying that he was going to pay out compensation as quick as possible and wasn't going to delay any compensation. They are entitled to compensation

Have they not already received compensation after the court hearings?

If so I don't understand what they gain out of suing them? Bar the usual media dancing and reminders of how tough their lives are now (with all those paid for prosthesis and extras).

Edit, I've retracted the first part of this post in light of the two above post and link (which was posted as I was in the middle of typing this post)

(with all those paid for prosthesis and extras).

Those prosthesis need replacing every 2 years and they are not cheap.

It's amazing how many people think that Jess' wheelchair cost £50 and that the NHS provides them. Actually we get no help in the way of wheelchairs funding from the NHS and her wheelchair cost us £2000 each and three months to have specially made. Hence why people should never lean on one, they do break and the parts are very expensive to replace. The £50 bog standard wheelchairs that you can buy are for those that only temporarily use them, if you are using them full time, you need something more specialised, and the same goes for prosthesis, cheap ones are not comfortable or ideal for long term use.

My twopennorth...it should not take three years to finalise any claim.
I think Merlins follow up statement is simply damage limitation following prevarication by their solicitors to stump up a realistic settlement.
What were their profits again last year?
Get your finger out of your corporate arse and pay up in a timely manner.
The Mail speaks with forked tongue...so do Merlin.

Pleased to see you know the ins and outs of this complex case.

Anything legal takes forever.

:)

We are all allowed to express our opinions, and I do have experience in supporting clients in litigation cases after negligence, on a number of occasions, including a young person who suffered extensive damage to their limb.
Settlement in full in that case took two years.
Three years is plenty of time to do long term medical assessments and financial calculations.
I'm not saying the victims solicitors are angels, but I do say Merlin have dragged their heels.

Is it really that complex though? The facts and details have long been established. The injuries are evident. Responsibility has been accepted.

That said, I guess there must be some kind of complication as otherwise Merlin would want to close this chapter without much more media attention.

My chair was about £4000, less that 2 years after i got it I needed a new one thanks to BA.

I thought the victims already received money from Merlin when the company was ordered to pay £5million in September 2016?
