I totally agree. The lurgy doesn't worry me, its the Threads style chaos we are already seeing.

This is what disturbingly I thought of when I saw people strip the shelves in supermarkets across the world. To compare anything from the film to something in real life is terrifying to say the least.

I have a holiday planned in Spain for June. I am hoping the travel restrictions are relaxed by then but I'm not that confident at the moment.

Tweets are not validated data but assuming they are accurate. The first tweet says they have had young people in ITU. Not surprising, mentioned before in any health trend you get outliers. The second tweet suggests 10% of patients where “young”. Italy seems to have an unusually high morbidity compared to other countries though.

May be that they are having to turn people away from hospitals perhaps. Who knows but yes its very high considering their excellent healthcare. Hopefully the Chinese "aid" flight that should have arrived now will help the Italians bring this down.

Doesn't Italy have an unusually high number of pensioners per capita or whatever it's called? What I mean is lots of the younger generations have moved to other countries for work and there is mainly the 50+ left, and obviously, the one age group that has the highest morality rate is.....

Probably, I’m no expert on Italy (other than its wines) and no idea about its health system either.

I'm wondering whether Italy's North/South divide (which is much greater than in the UK) has changed how cases are distributed. Most cases seem to be in the richer north where people can travel more easily.

It’s also the tourist area so likely where Italy’s patient 0 arrived and started spreading the virus.

People keep using Italy as the standard. Not all other countries are getting same results.

Hopefully Scarefest wont be affected! My fave time to visit the park...

I'm hoping that Scarefest won't be affected, but I feel that this may go on beyond the summer season. but not as severe. There is no way we are going to contain this. I don't trust this government and I don't think that they have been fully up front about this. The truth is, this is a new strain of virus and even the experts don't fully know all the answers.

The NHS website say's "Because it's a new illness, we do not know exactly how coronavirus spreads from person to person."

Not everyone will have gotten the virus by the end of the year, so there will still be people at risk from getting it. They don't know if once you get it, whether you can get it again, normally you can't with viruses unless it mutates like the flu or common cold that it mutates and then you can get it again and again year in year out or more than once during the same winter season.

Hopefully Scarefest wont be affected, after all the London Marathon has been postponed till October, so hopefully all this will have been blown over by then.

There is an interactive map on the ITV news page, where you can click on various regions to find out where the confirm cases are and how many. Looks live I'm currently safe here in Norfolk, but how long for?

First case confirmed in my home town today apparently, still food in Aldi but there's a few gaps on the shelves. Still no TP obviously because people are idiots.

Meanwhile if this thing does rumble on for months as now seems likely, the impact on the leisure industry will be catastrophic. For all we know the likes of LWV, Oakwood, Pleasurewood Hills (and maybe some far bigger names) may not reopen. Would anyone want to take any of them on once all this is over..?

Some advice please

I have a sore throat cough developing since this morning my joints ache and my chest feels rattly like it does when I get hey fever

Should I self isolate ?
also will it be hilarious if the premier league season is cancelled and Liverpool fail to win the title
