Can confirm the fries only stay hot for 2 mins once they're out the fryer. The heater probably keeps them warm for 5 mins but they are the first thing to go cold. One advantage if it's busy, you're guaranteed hot fries. Usually I put my food in the oven for a bit if I get a takeaway.

will prob get deleted, banned or both, but

nearly 100 thousand dead every year from flu

why does the gov not mention this any time, why do they not do something about it

The figures above include influenza or pneumonia mentioned anywhere on a death certificate - two illnesses. Pneumonia doesn't develop simply as a result of influenza, it can be caused by a multitude of things.

I'm going to say this one more time, since for 135 pages you still don't seem to grasp this. COVID-19 is worse than the flu. That's not a cover-up, not some sort of conspiracy - it's scientific fact so not really something up for debating. I'm not wasting my time going through every single reasoning behind it as there's plenty of information out there, but to summarise one more time here's a few reasons:

- It's a new disease that no one had immunity for
- We have a vaccine for the flu which can be partially effective, but nothing for COVID-19
- COVID-19 is considerably more infectious than the usual influenza
- The death rate is also higher compared to the flu
- Death rates across the globe are infinitely higher at present compared to similar periods previously

Now again, I ask people to stay on topic and not start going into conspiracy theory territory yet again :banghead:.

Until there is a test to find out who and who not has had it I don’t think it’s possible to say it kills more people than flu, we really don’t have a clue.
It is more infectious for sure but that’s because it’s a new disease so nobody has any immunity at all.

What part of that we are trying to flatten the peak do you not understand? Influenza or pneumonia doesn't suddenly overwhelm the NHS, those deaths take place over the course of a year. On the other hand Covid-19 have flooded and overwhelmed the NHS. The front line workers would have also been vaccinated against influenza, where as Covid-19 has taken many lives of our brave NHS staff.

Those Covid-19 death figures could still rise within the year and if history is anything to go by (Spanish flu), a second wave could kill many more people than the first.

Well you voted for this government, before the election, you did nothing but praise them up as you thought the sun shines out of their derriere, but yet you seem to do nothing but criticise the way that they are handling this crisis. As the saying goes, be careful for what you wish for.

I personally think who ever is in government has a very tough job to do, to get us all through this crisis, however I personally think this government has not handle the crisis well nor have they been very transparent about things on many different levels.

We're at 30,000 official deaths - from a quick Google, no idea if that includes care homes or other deaths that may have been missed - and we've been in lockdown for over a month. Imagine how many more deaths would have occured had we just carried on as normal. Plus the hospitals would be completely overwhelmed. This is why it's worse than flu.

It’s a silly argument discussing which is worse when we are not even close to the end of this and we will never know if lockdown made any difference or not, chances are it slowed the upward curve down a bit but overall there is also an argument that eventually when looking back it didn’t save many lives.
Young people also don’t on the whole suffer with Covid like flu, most don’t even know they have it.
The near 30000 includes every reported death that mentions Covid, it’s also not a true representation because it includes anyone who died in hospital that tested positive regardless how they died I.e stroke or heart attack but still tested positive.
We will never get a true indication of total numbers until when we can look back at above average deaths in a couple of years time but quite frankly does it really matter? We could just cook the figures like China then maybe everyone would be happy, there is very little the government could of done differently to be honest, lockdown earlier would of created a bigger second wave, look at Japan right now, I have friends in Denmark, they are almost back to normal, that’s crazy and will come and bite them in a couple of weeks time.

There is no science for the 2m rule. It was just a number plucked out of thin air

I know most think I’m a complete head case but if you have time check out the interviews on here

Compelling arguments why lockdown was the wrong way

Yes we are in lockdown and there’s not much we can do about it but comply with it. However that doesn’t mean we can’t say it’s wrong.

The last interview with prof Michael Levitt very informative

Crunching the numbers after 4 weeks of excess deaths we should be ok

So that’s anytime now.

Honestly, I can see lockdown lasting a while. The government are all for the economy but if we have a second wave like Germany it'll have a bigger impact as we'll be back in lockdown for longer. I think it's just going to take patience unfortunately.

Germany hasn't had a second wave as such; their R0 number was still only at 0.76 last time I checked.

I don’t see a second wave happening
As more people become infected and immune then the R# has no choice but to decrease as there’s no where the virus has to go.

I think it may show in New Zealand and places that had a more stringent lockdown.

You sound oddly optimistic, are you feeling ok?
I don't think we will know any time soon if we get a high enough degree of natural immunity.

With people ignoring the lockdown spreading the virus.
With it generally not effecting the young people as much
The sad fact a lot of those most at risk have died as we didn’t bring in measures to protect them sooner

We could have a large herd immunity built.

Unknown as we don’t have the antibody tests

I’m feeling unusually optimistic.

It won’t last
