Reactions: Dar
Mrs had to go A&E for back issues a few weeks back on a Friday night and there were about 3/4 patients in there tops.

With everything shut of course those numbers have dropped.

Stay at home, protect the NHS

Sometimes the slogan is too good,

"
Leading medical organisations have voiced anxiety that some people are inadvertently damaging their own health, and even risking their life, by shunning NHS care. People are either too scared to go to hospital or do not want to add to the strain on the NHS when it is under its greatest ever pressure with Covid-19, they said.

“GPs are noticing an increase in people dying in the community, often at home,” said Prof Martin Marshall, the chair of the Royal College of GPs (RCGP). “If patients are dying at home because they are fearful of seeking medical attention, or concerned about being a burden, then it is incredibly concerning."

@Craig can arrange that.

It will be interesting looking at the excess deaths figure in a year's time.

Using Twitter as a source of information is a terrible idea, your echo chamber will tell you what you want to hear.

Message a mod, sure they can sort that if you want it.

WRT people not being in A+E as much, it shows the massive amount taken up by frivolous visits. It shows the need for a buffer to A+E but also for people to engage the grey matter (what little of it there is) between the ears.

if we are still all alive that is o_O

cant say what else I want to due to "conspiracy theory"

I read they may be thinking of limiting beer to 3 pints each then sending you home when pubs reopen.

thats because no one else will listen to me

Mainly as you're posting utter gibberish. I talk a LOT of rubbish, believe me, and you're putting me to shame. There is no conspiracy surrounding the team, honestly. They do this for free, where is the incentive?

Anyway, my point I wanted to make is there is a massive amount of lockdown breaking now the weather has turned a bit better again here. Infuriating seeing people on the skatepark Infront of the sign saying it's closed. I hope the details of a phased exit help limit this.

One of the things that the government is considering doing is increasing fines as a deterrent once restrictions are eased, and they still insist that it's only a very small minority breaking the rules. From most things I've read, levels of obeying the lockdown are far greater than initially expected.

One more time pleeeeeeease back on topic ;)
Damn it sorry Craig!

On topic this graph shows how much of a major decline were in right now. Bright side is there if we keep at it

On the BBC news live feed this morning at 8.53 this appeared, if found to be true then global repercussions towards the country could be and should be huge.

Leaked US report claims China downplayed outbreak while buying up medical supplies

AFPCopyright: AFP

US officials believe that China "intentionally concealed the severity" of the pandemic, a leaked report from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) says, according to news agency AP.

The Trump administration has stepped up its criticism of China in recent days, with both the president and Secretary of State Pompeo directly condemning Beijing.

The DHS paper says China increased imports and cut back exports of medical supplies, while downplaying the severity of the outbreak.

The report is also cited as saying China didn't inform the World Health Organization properly in January so it could order medical supplies from abroad.

Been having power brown outs for the last 3 days. Our interwob has also been iffy, it died totally around 4 hours ago and has only just come back.

Coincidence? Or the first cracks in society?

Perhaps your private school has very small class sizes and big corridors but at my former (comprehensive) school socially distancing would be next to impossible. You would also need extra school buses for the children to sit far apart, more canteen space, etc.

My mum is a school librarian and she is super nervous about the restrictions being relaxed too early and bringing coronavirus back to our house.

Distancing would only be for staff, not children. Its been said that children are less likely to catch Covid anyway.

Lockdown has to be eased at some point and I think we may see schools go back in June. Might see some businesses such as hairdressers re-open and garden centres soon too.

Government also said children are likely to be carriers.

After the news this morning from Boris wanting everyone to work together on a vaccine I’m guessing the UK trial isn’t going well, why would you share info on something that potentially is worth some sort of leverage in the future?

The more I think of it the only way out of this is for us all to get it at some point and build up some sort of personal immunity to it like the common cold, now is as good time as any to get it whilst numbers are lower.
Corona party anyone?

Why would Boris wanting the world to work together mean that the UK trials aren't going well? Surely that would have been essential regardless?

Efficacy results from human testing won't be available until June/July, and then they'll get an early indicator of whether it works so they can start manufacturing if they go well. That's how they're going to be able to achieve their deadline of 1 million doses by September and 100 million doses by the end of 2020.

EDIT: There has apparently been a groundbreaking discovery of antibodies that stop people from getting coronavirus: https://apple.news/ACYxRikp4QQqiT8OmHKzkhQ

You can't see if the vaccine trials are successful during a lock down, those taken part in the vaccine trials will need exposure to the virus to tell whether it works or not, a bit of a catch 22 if you ask me

We've got hospitals full of the virus, I'm sure forced exposure would be part of the trial?
