Any parks that open will find the only people who turn up are die hard geeks.
Who will leave and never return when they see how oppressive their escapist hobby has become.
Said parks will then close within a week, never to reopen.
Hey @bluesonichd post under your own account...
I still think parks reopening now know they won't make money but know they need to reopen for staff to get used to operational changes.

I know he's trying to steal my crown as "miserable old git", and he may be a bit sensationalist, but give the guy a break. I think both me and him feel a bit Greek right now.

You both seem sensationalist not pessimistic.
Mind you I suspect as theme parks are a SPIN for me I'm naturally inclined to put up with crap to attend.

Of course, everyone is free to believe whatever they want. I'm not going to argue with anyone and call them wrong, no-one needs that kind of agro right now. I'm just stating my current beliefs.

I found that "banned" Davik Icke video the other night. Was genuinely shocked that his views were pretty much the conclusion I had come to myself. (I usually find his rantings to be "entertaining" at best).

I'm not saying there is no virus, or it's man made...... but its all a very convenient excuse now, isn't it?

That is exactly how brainwashing works

For a start, you're wrong, 332 people under 45 have died from it - I'm looking at the same Daily Mail article you probably read.

Just stop with the mindset that the elderly and sick don't matter, that we should sacrifice them just so we can go to the pub. This country is run by the Conservatives who are very much pro-economy. After the herd immunity comments Johnson quickly realised that killing people for the sake of the economy is not a good look. Johnson is not keeping the country locked down for nothing, he'll be keeping it locked down because if we reopen now death rates will soar.

I don’t read the Daily Mail, never have. I actually read it from the ONS website a day or two ago but the figures change all of the time and are falsely reported.
I also don’t drink so couldn’t care less about the pubs but what’s I do care about is to prioritise the people with a life ahead of them, why subject a whole generation to extreme poverty to save people who are about to die anyway.
Short term heartless yes, long term heartless no.

The longer this goes on, the more inclined I am to agree with the theory that we should just let all the old folk die, leaving a nice cheap housing market for all us not-at-risk-people with something left to live for.

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one.

There is the entire social work sector, that's full of poverty line workers, that would be totally borked if too many old folks fall victim to the economy.

I wonder is so many people would be up in arms if it had killed 30000 people over the space of a year.

This is what virus do. With no protection, if you’re on the list you are toast

No amount of clapping in the street will save them

No amount of lockdown will save them.

It will get them eventually :(

All the hospital beds. Ventilators , ICU beds. Didn’t save them

Least the healthy that it won’t effect can sit in their garden drinking Prosecco and get paid for it

I don't drink either but I'm sure you understood my point. Swap pub with theme park. And having my grandmother die in January, if staying locked down for a bit longer saves my grandads life then I'm all for it. He's not "about to die anyway".

As for "subject a whole generation to extreme poverty" frankly I don't think that's going to happen. The economy may shrink sure, but whether people are put into poverty or not will depend on the Tories policies.

Ah, are you bitter because you're not furloughed?

As a sole trader, yes. Bitterness is standard. Our gubbermunt have done everything in their power to fuck over us self employed folk, and this does not help.

Ah, are you bitter because you're not furloughed?
Not at all
I’ve never taken any government hand out in my life.

Bitter about all those sat getting paid doing nothing wanting it to go on and on and on with no clue to the massive tax burden that coming.

The biggest depression in 300 years

The next 20 years is going to be amazing
