Oh please I'm not getting into a debate comparing a amusement Park to the dairy business. Haha. Anyway I'm going to go and enjoy all our wonderful parks. Your all very infuriating going over the same old same debates, would be nice to read genuine, interesting posts once in a while. Genuine facts, memories, you know positive, happy posts. But for now enjoy constantly chasing your tails.
Forums are not for me, get me too wound up. Take care all
I'm convinced this is a Pleasure Beach insider.

Of course I know this. But it has to be a sticky point for gp visitors. People want things nice and easy, no issue getting a space etc. Just a thought. Could be complete bollocks.
If you follow signs from the motorway to parking for the pleasure beach it leads to the giant council car parks, nice and easy.

Staying in the Big Blue Hotel but we've found parking isn't cheap for 3 days might just have to swallow the £10 a day charge as its cheaper than the others and I'm hoping more secure.
The car park at the Big blue can’t hold everyone anyway, just find free on street parking five minutes walk away.

I'm getting a bit sick of everyone stating "pleasure beach should do this that or other", as though anybody on here runs a business and makes it come across as very easy.
The fault lies totally with the British public for not supporting this and other leisure attractions. Far to easy to stay in playing on your phone, VR headset, watch a movie, etc etc. Nobody is willing to make an effort anymore as individuals or families to go out en masse and support attractions. Easier to sit and slag them off.
Also the nation is totally to blame for constantly wanting to go abroad and support foreign attractions by paying of hundreds of pounds and thinking that's ok. Nothing wrong with sampling different cultures, parks, but would it kill people to think , you know what I'm going to support my own country instead of paying for that cheap flight to another park, prob not, because we only think of WHAT I WANT and not the bigger picture.
People need to make an effort, as an example to go out on a Friday night and support them with group evenings out at the beach, food, couple of drinks.
The English are very lazy and nothing will change until we make a collective effort to engage more like we used to

As an aside the English only seem to like things when its really cheap, totally forgetting the cultural value these places hold, and the expense to run them. We are a nation who wants everything for nothing and sod the consequences
Didn't know Liz Truss was on here - hi Liz - as Welsh person I won't take offence at you (lazy) lazy tag.

Well at least there wasn't a topic about cuddly toys or anything.

On the BPB subject, Spoke to a friend of mine who recently visited. Park was busy but long queues for everything. Revolution only on one train apparently.

How's ENSO doing? Raking the money in I trust.

So how much "maintenance'" do you think the woodies are actually going to have over the coming weeks ?

Nash will be closed for 4 days in September.
Dipper closed for 6 days in September.
Streak closed for 8 days in October.

That's not including all the Mondays and Tuesdays in September when the whole park is closed anyway!

Not much, just an excuse to close more main attractions midweek, 'cos they haven't got the punters to justify full opening.
So that will be half a dozen attractions closed at any one time on weekdays for the rest of the season, and National, Enso and Grand Prix not opening until lunch.
No doubt some of the kids rides will also be closed in Nickland as well, and the park will shut an hour early every time it rains in the afternoon.
Lets hope they manage to get Valhalla open in October...I won't hold my breath.
But hey...still a whole ten days to enjoy the thrills, spills and excitement of Hot Ice.

I know that some people in this forum like to visit the park on weekdays when it’s empty, but surely now (much as I hate to say it), the park has reached the point where it needs to be closed Monday to Thursday during term time, maybe with just a 4pm-10pm opening on Fridays, in order to allow more effort to be put into making the weekend openings really worthwhile.

I’d much rather have the park closed Monday to Thursday, but then it open on Fridays evenings and at the weekend with full ride operation, no staggered openings, and decent opening hours (10-6 as an absolute minimum)

Thoughts please?

I think it makes sense. My initial concern is are they going to be able to staff the place sufficiently with such limited hours available though?

Seeing as this will be my first visit to PB....Which rides are and absolute must(get as many rides in as possible) and which rides should I not waste my time with? I don't want another DBGT where I wasted 45mins of my life(inc que)

Well apart from the coasters (if they are open), i would probably try and do the 4 dark rides, flying machines and Derby Racer. Also the train ride is a great way to take in the atmosphere of the park (if there is one!).

I don't think there is anything to really avoid as such, unless you don't like bleeding ears, in which case avoid infusion !!! And if you have a bad back then avoid wheel seats on most of the coasters!!

Slowest queue movers will be Streak and Grand Prix which is now down to about 60people an hour. Dipper will be a slow queue if it's on one train or quick if on two.

EDIT: And don't forget a pint in Madam Crevettes!

Icon, Revolution, Avalanche, The Big One, Nickelodeon Steak, and Big Dipper are all essential.

Be aware that Grand National can be quite rough especially if sitting in a wheel seat, and some people here really don’t like Infusion (though personally I’m quite fond of it and don’t find it to be that bad). Steeplechase is certainly quite unique, if you want the cred then go for it but it’s not the most comfortable of coasters due to how you sit on it. Blue Flyer is a little woodie that’s worth a spin if the queue isn’t long.

Ghost Train is definitely worth a go as well, as is River Caves as well just to see what it’s like in there, and if there’s no queue then get yourself on Wallace & Grommit for a laugh and Alice In Wonderland as well. I always like a go on Avatar Airbender as well but it’s just a standard Zamperla Disk’O so if you are pushed for time don’t worry about it too much.

In the Blackpool office today so took a stroll down the front before work. Rides already testing before 8 and a crane doing something to Avalanche.

Sometimes it feels like the park really has it together and then you hear all the horror stories.
