Chessington World of Adventures Resort

Then you realise that they have a central hub with no seating, with no current plans to add any to the area...

1 step forward, 2 steps back...

All UK theme parks could do with more seating. It's something I mention at every theme park that rolls out customer surveys. Not like benches cost a bomb!

Market Square looks very good. Tarmac looks awful in theme parks, reminds me of fun fairs rather than themed environments. Nice to see they have a nicely paved and themed flooring. Looks great!

I'm looking forward to seeing how Scorpion Express develops, even if it looks a bit bland atm. Then I could be biased that I will be working at the park, and when this opens, it will be one of the rides I'm going to be operator on. :p

As long as its still manual, its the best ride to operate. I'll never forget the round of applauses I got from my days as a Runaway operator. ;D

I have to say though, as much as this is positive (the look of Market Square), the original claims that the Mine Train and Dragon Falls would be "rebuilt in full" for 2014 now seem absurd and wild.

Blame Varney. He said it. :/

Fastrack confirmed for Scorpion Express. :/ In an email form Chessington Holidays:

Plus, if you book your stay at the Azteca hotel by Tuesday 4th March everyone in your booking will receive a complimentary FASTRACK ticket for Scorpion Express the new ride experience for 2014!**

The email also touched on other infomation not really worth mentioning.

Lets just hope it's in replacement for Truckers' Fastrack.

Runaway Train had Fastrack for years so this won't have any repercussions on other rides. At least now it will have an real queue/merge point rather than a funny gate stuck on the side to let fastrack guests cut in.

Tiny Truckers will still have fastrack.

Agree, the original I found to be very charming indeed! The new bricks look nice.

You hear that.

Look at pictures from Chessington's halcyon years and then repeat....

THE BRICKS LOOK NICE.

Saying nothing else on the matter.

Possibly Chessie's STUPIDEST idea in recent history, which is impressive...

"A runaway train with a sting in it's tail"

SIGH. Who is writing this, and why can't Merlin ever get their apostrophes correct?

Fun, Fun, Fun. Scorpion Express' new mini site is now public:

http://www.chessington.com/scorpion/

A village over taken by scorpions.... Not quite as it seems. It's all coming together, now the story and everything. Only area of that description we haven't seen in the construction is the Gold Mine. Oh well. ::) Ill have to see on the 22nd.

Horray for randomly sponsoring stuff...

I don't even know what this is... Merlin seem very keen on product tie-ins on EVERYTHING though...

Because that is what a lot of guests want. Look at Thomas Land at Drayton Manor or Nickelodeon Land at Pleasure Beach. The Madagascar character meet & greet is also very popular.

However, after googling I don't think these characters suit the children's zoo really as there are no goats, turkeys, ducks or pigs in those characters! Maybe they should of just done a separate thing with the characters and a shop.

Sponsorship =/= Attraction deliberately themed to an IP...

Juicy Drop Pop had a weird mangle of thoughtful and unthoughtful sponsorship results as an example...

The part I'm angry about is the possibility of YooHoo graphics on the website and map. That would kill the feeling of something different from average life. The map just gives out that atmosphere of escapism.

EDIT: For me it does, anyway.
