In true Merlin style they have built a fence in front of Colossus.
They have posted a bunch of photos of their themed fence on Facebook. They've received a lot of negative comments from the public.

Have they done any trackwork on that thing since it opened? I don't recall them doing so... could need an entire Retrack Me Concludes.

They have done no work so far.

Hm. RMC would be good but they are hardly going to keep the coaster shut until the next time Heide is due a large investment.... then again.. who knows.

I don't see why not. It's a fair old size, not a small project so will require 12 months or so of reconstruction- Demon is entering its 4th season.

As good a ride as it is (it was a great ride in the early days), I don't think Heide is particularly lacking in attractions considering their attendance.

Shipping container? Check.
Danger/warning signs? Check.
Run down theme? Check.
Pipes and extractor fans? Check.
Satellite dishes? MISSING!

If this was not the case for all new Merlin non-family/kids attractions then I'd probably be saying it looks pretty good. But I am bored with these never ending dark themes. No idea what this is replacing mind and whether it is an improvement or not?

:)

Heide Park's latest statement on Colossus being closed for 2017 from the article linked below ends with "The complex testing and decision-making processes tend to end, and as soon as there is news, we will announce them".

The author of the article goes on to criticise Merlin and the park for the lack of information given out and the fact they claim to haven't decided on the future of the ride - when it has already been shut since July.

Rather than it being a matter of waiting for money to carry out repair work, the fact they haven't actually decided what to do with it is worrying - they could still decide to demolish it or leave it SBNO for a few years like Gwazi. Hmmmm.
Hopefully SW8 will be better looked after...

The Ghostbusters dark ride was supposed to open yesterday on the first day of the 2017 season.
However the park announced on Facebook on Thursday that the ride was not ready and wouldn't open. No new opening date has been given.

Understandably there has been a lot of backlash online from the public. First Colossus and now this.

Don't worry Dan, I'm sure they'll change the rest of the park so that Ghost Busters fits right in. Just give them a few years.
