Towers Loving Care

Only thing wrong with Hex is the overkill of that black/yellow tape, it just looks pointless and you can tell that they just used that as a means to make it look like they've actually done a lot more than they have.

And the only issue I have with Nemesis is them teasing us with how amazing it looked in red! <3

The tape was already there they didn’t add any extra for TLC, some was rehung as it had fallen down and the rest had 10 years of dust cleaned off it.

I think everyone’s getting a bit picky with the volume of the Hex music there’s bigger fish to fry than that so to speak at Alton Towers than the volume I for one don’t think there’s an issue. As for the Paint on Nemesis I think its better than the original.
They need to focus on the bigger problems with the parks like Duel and sorting out other aspects of the park that will help it get back to the position they where at in 2014.

I really don’t know how anyone can tolerate the painfully screechy cinema room in Hex, you can see the people wincing at the audio.

Volume is fine, lounder the better, but just sort out the screech! Replacing speakers for the the sake of it?...

It's rather the balance of the speakers in the cinema room - if they want the volume to stay at that level then they'll have to EQ the sibilance as that's what's painful on the ears.

I think the actual volume of the cinema room is fine, just the EQ needs changing. They need to turn up the low end (bass) and turn down the high end (treble). If it's required they could add a subwoofer behind the screen.

:banghead:
No... it doesn't. A proper subwoofer is at least the size of a fridge.
Well it says on the front that it has one. And on the bottom, there is something that vaguely resembles a small speaker. How am I to know, though. My knowledge of audio is slim to none.

Yup, one of my lovely old lady customers has finally got a flat screen modern tv in her big dining kitchen.
"The sound isn't as good as the old telly, and the picture isn't as sharp, but that's progress I suppose."
Yup, good old modern technology.
I'm sounding like a sad old bastard again aren't I?

I mentioned a while back that I still use the sub I bought about 20 years ago. It's bigger than most TVs of the time. A huge solid box of chipboard with a pair of cones the size of plates. Turn it up past the first few percent of it's volume and the whole house starts shaking.
Meanwhile, the "sub" that came with the 7.1 system I use on my flight sim computer is only just bigger than a shoebox. For it's size it's not bad, but there's no contest when it comes to the sound.

Just be thankful Alton don't do Thorpe's version of TLC which amounts to painting the chewing gum stuck on the cattlepens brown or black and standing up the knocked over bin while installing a few screens that pack up a week after opening.

I'm going to take one of my audio gripes to Pet Hates now, so could everyone else follow suit or stick to moaning about TLC specifically? ;)

Thanks.

Rode Hex during Scarefest. Heard many positive comments about the ride, rather than the "that was boring" or "what was that about?" comments that I'd previously heard. Maybe I got lucky with who was riding but it seems like TLC has done its job. I personally think it looks, sounds, and feels great.

Nemesis is looking stunning as well. Don't see any issue with it there. And for anyone having a lil moan, it's better to have it repainted slightly differently (even though it's just as high quality and just as impressive as the original) than for it to be rotting away.

Hex felt great over scarefest, the TLC seems to have done it justice. Nemmy looks fantastic with the new coat of paint, it fits the more modern feel of the area now thanks to the slight change in how it was painted i'd say.

Nemesis looking great despite the fact it's sat for 2 seasons unfinished? I'm talking about the track, not the station by the way.

Problem with Nemesis is that it was done over several close seasons... Track then one side of the station then the other.

By the time it was all done one side of the station looked worse than the other.
