Usually the least windy time of day is often given as the reason, to prevent dust spread.

There still appears to have been no official acknowledgement of the big Ka-boom today.

Amazing to see it come down, a real end of an era. Sort of feels right somehow it was blown up now instead of Falcons Flight taking its record later this year.

Anyhow, I was suddenly struck with inspiration...

I literally had the same thought after watching the video!

What I find crazy is how on hitting the ground almost every track piece breaks away like it's made of matchsticks. I don't know if they did something to preweaken the joints but assuming they didn't it's remarkable it just fell apart as it did.
