2013: General Discussion

Re: Europa-Park: 2013 Discussion

Not surprised to see that they aren't getting anything too major next year after Wodan this year and big projects in both 2014 and 2015. But I'm sure whatever they are doing will be done well as usual. It will be interesting to see exactly what they do. In a way anything considerable on park can be seen as a bit of a bonus seeing as we were told back in April that chances are most work in 2013 will be on backstage areas and infrastructure!

:)

Re: Europa-Park: 2013 Discussion

Also, don't forget that for the winter season this year they're adding their new antique carousel near the Europa Park Dome!

Still, maybe I'm a *tad* disappointed if this is all we get new next year. Ramius, do you know anything about these "infrastructure improvements"? That sounds good.

What happened to the rumoured Sat refurb?

Re: Europa-Park: 2013 Discussion

I think the advert NEW FOR 2013 will be:

- New Shows
- Enchanted Forest expansion
- Bell Rock (since around 2 years the park keeps new things that open during summer and later as new in the advert for the next season)
- Carousel (see above)
- Infrastructure improvements (street, staff house: See above)

I think there will be "one more thing" as a surprise, like the Food Loop restaurant in 2011. We will see. ;)

Re: Europa-Park: 2013 Discussion

EPFans just posted on Facebook something about an extension to the EP Dome, which I had no idea about.

Translated, from their site:

EPFans said:
Currently there is absolute peak season in the park early in the morning you can hear the radio traffic reports already around the motorway exit "57b Rust". Tens of thousands of visitors happy date every day with a refreshing driving with one of the water rides or the cooling wind of the high-speed roller coasters.

Actually, the EP to do so right now enough with the everyday business ... But the Europa-Park would not be a Europe Park when he would not think even in those hectic times already to the next level! So the last few days a massive fence was built just outside the park in the area of the EP-Dome. That the dream palace was dismantled a few weeks ago might not have all visitors noticed. But now you can no longer ignore the huge construction site between the main car park and entrance:

Dome-Erweiterung0.jpg

Dome-Erweiterung1.jpg

According to the summer fan meeting 2012, creates a new lobby for the Parliament's dome, the future also the newly acquired Carousel "palladium of Eden" is home to wind and weather-protected inside.

So it seems like as well as the carousel, they're building an extension to the dome lobby that opens onto the entrance plaza? Is this correct, or is all this just carousel construction? ???

Re: Europa-Park: 2013 Discussion

The EP Dome will get an extension.
They will add a new foyer to the Dome and in that foyer they will place the carousel "Palladium of Eden".

Eurosat refurb:
There are rumours of the refurb in german fanboards but there is still no formal announcment from EP.

Confusing as hell article, but it seems like Mack are building a new factory.

WALDKIRCH. Mack is one of Waldkirch. Since 232 years. As it currently looks, Mack Rides, a world leader in manufacturing of rides for amusement parks and theme parks, it wanted to inform the CDU member of parliament Peter White in a "celebration dinner conversation" of the CDU Waldkirch. Around 30 people took up the notes of the managing director of Christian Elverfeldt around the construction hall in the wall Matt road.

What's new in Acher rail business? Previously, the walkers on Waldkircher Elzuferweg puzzled about what new attraction just now again grew over the fence of Mack'schen company grounds in the sky and finally recognizable as roller coasters-Neuhheit was. Such as the "Wild Mouse";. Wooden prototype of this was founded in 1957 Waldkirch "Today the rides occur directly in front of the computer," says CEO Christian von Elverfeldt. The calculations are in sufficient detail to enable the trains only on site - should be set up - so as in Russia, China and Australia. "Today it is no longer necessary that the master craftsman with the welder on the farm running and still pounding, there's knocking," says Elverfeldt, "at the end of the parts fit together perfectly." Still curious Waldkircher will soon have to look back a bit: The European park attraction for 2014 is built on the premises in the Wall Street Matt and then tested. It will be interesting lenses over the fence.

Now the yard is a kind of pool in XXL: It was just not the proving ground for a new ride that combines the "rotation ends coffee cups" with a water fight. With the new, 2200-square-meter workshop, which on since April 2012 this site arises and the walls have reached the first floor, the final decision was made to stay at its Waldkirch and expand it. "The new facility allows us to classic material flow: the front inside the pipes behind the finished product out," von Elverfeldt. That is a huge cost savings compared to previously. Currently, the material is for the individual, successive steps in different places in the yard and in the hall, too much time is lost, it will look and gather. After the hall in the next step, the production capacity can be increased. "If a customer requests a rollercoaster, he does not want to wait two years," said Elverfeldt. Paradoxically, both the economic recovery of emerging markets lead as the recession in the euro zone to more demand. The one who suddenly more money, others less, but want to experience what the holidays anyway. Both can use Mack Rides, the industry is relatively recession-proof. intermediate design plans and rails increase the CDU members, councilors and councils around in the hall. Further along the hall is also welded at 18 clock yet - the day here has three layers. May photograph you do not, the fear is big business spies. What to see the competition is not to have the details of the zero level process that engineers have developed: At each manufacturing process are at "ground zero", ie on the hall floor, steel planks, where brackets are attached to the bar tubes, in any amount, angular position and multiple axial directions can be adjusted. A laser tracker system, the measurement points are on the tracks recorded in seconds and determines if its position coincides with the target in the virtual computer. Even the smallest minute deviation can be corrected immediately. "Some people might know yet how to increase earlier with slight neck pain from the Acher train," recalls of Elverfeldt. Already inched deviations from the plan may in fact lead to significant joggers at the points of the train, where rails are interlocked. Due to the parallel virtual reality that it creates in the computer, which guarantees zero plane methods that every little deviation from the target without much effort will be immediately visible. Mack Rides This saves nearly half the time, which was formerly used for the manufacture of rail. Some work outsourced from Mack Rides - with the paint shop about a former employee became independent. Alongside the tracks, the heart of a car and the fiberglass technology is and will remain a specialty known as theming, so the design of the cars according to customer.

Any German speakers able to get a better handle on this?

Re: Europa-Park: 2013 Discussion

I will try to give you a summary.

Mack Rides builds a new factory to optimize the production of their products and reduce the time customers have to wait for. With the new facility the work will be organized like a classical production line and so save a lot of time. A customer does not want to wait two years before a rollercoaster is deliverd.

Mack Rides invented a technique that they call "zero plane process". With this technique they are able to bend the rails of a rollercoaster in a perfect way. This saves them also a lot of time and money because they don't have to build the coaster in Waldkirch and look if everything is ok with the rollercoaster rails.

The new EP rollercoaster for 2014 will be build in Waldkirch and tested.

Re: Europa-Park: 2013 Discussion

Only a small testtrack of the rollercoaster for the EP in 2014 will be build in waldkirch and not the whole track as it sounded from the article.

Re: Europa-Park: 2013 Discussion

A quick summary for what Europa-Park are doing for the 2013 season:

- Eden Palladium
A relocated and fully restored 1909 Salon Carousel, which was bought from a closing Open Air Museum in the Alsace, France. As a Salon Carousel, it is inside. It features several statues and is of historical significance. Currently being restored.

- Enchanted Forest: Phase 2
In preparation for the major attraction in 2014, the rest of the Enchanted Forest - up to Austria (by the chairswing) will be completed. Several new buildings, including themed exhibits, will open.

Other attractions or refurbishments are as yet unknown, but the park are taking a quiet year following the major investment in 2012 with Wodan and Hotel Bell Rock.

Complete build; Häusle build - is a Swabian wisdom. What holds true for the Swabians, long for the Baden - and even more so for Rust. For in Rust is a lot done, and therefore a lot of construction, this year even more than ever before. More than 90 building permits construction office manager Martin Spoth had since January. On the table, not only, but also from the Europa Park On Tuesday Spoth and Mayor Günter Gorecky presented the council just before the newest park project: Grimm village, stage II

Two years ago, on the parking lot along the Elz already a fairytale castle, a witch's house, and a Brothers Grimm village arose again - a first signal that between large lake and Elz somewhat dated fairy garden, which is older than the amusement and Since its opening 37 years ago, an integral part of the subject area remained, before a refresh. stands So now is to take place the second phase. A total of five new buildings are in the so-called subject area arise "fairy tale" and solely by motives and title of the Grimm fairy tales recall (Golden Goose, Cinderella, The Wishing-Table, Doctor All-Knowing, The Brave little tailor). Above and beyond is created a dock for the Mississippi steamboat and a new plumbing. And it also happens to have a little soft with the now rather dated fairy houses, which are the new houses. Two of which are to remain in the park and continue to remember the former enchanted forest. "There are absolute cult objects. We know that many visitors to the park have a special emotional connection to the fairy houses, because they are considered children the houses and now have their own children before. Therefore we will continue two of them get," explained Volker Klaiber , spokesman of the Europa Park, the BZ. All the figures are broken down by the way, and possibly used elsewhere in the park. all projects of Grimm II village council voted the way to the majority. Only Elke Maria Ringwald (ABFR) showed little enthusiasm for the project. Their concern: The new building could experience a more intense sound and therefore make right in the areas outside the Park site for noise pollution.

Elke Maria Ringwald for the LOSS.

Re: Europa-Park: 2013 Discussion

Europa Park is currently doing some testruns on Wodan with a microphone on the train. There are rumours that Wodan is running with a new type of wheels (steel if those rumours are true !) and they are now checking wether it`s getting too loud or not. Well...if the noise level is alright then Wodan will probably start in the next summer season on steelies ! :)

Re: Europa-Park 2013: Enchanted Forest Phase 2

Yep...there really was a huge overhaul planned for Sat this winter...including new theming and track rework...but it was cancelled due to being too complex to be done in the given time...unfortunately.

But because of that I think it`s not too unrealistic that there will be another novelty that nobody knows about until now...?

Unfortunately I got no information until now if Wodans noise level on steel wheels was okay or not. Gonna try to keep you updated... ;)

Re: Europa-Park 2013: Enchanted Forest Phase 2

It is still possible to have something else (like Foodloop in 2011), but I don't really think so. It simply is a quiet year, after 2012 being very exciting.
Talking about sat, it was only a rumour that the ride will have a new theming (or even track) for next year. They surely are planning something to renew Eurosat, but not for next year.

Re: Europa-Park 2013: Enchanted Forest Phase 2

There is a new, yet unannounced, building site at Europa Park Resort: :)

uebersicht-big.jpg

The staff parking area (red) will be rebuilt on the green area. After that, there will be a huge free space behind Blue Fire / Scandinavia. Maybe for new attractions.

I think in the next few years, the old management buildings behind Euro-Mir will move to the other side of the street too. And then there is a very huge space for new attractions and theme park additions. :D

This park never ceases to amaze me with the amount of land they have and how they manage to build so much! More exciting prospects!

Re: Europa-Park 2013: Enchanted Forest Phase 2

Could we see a major new tunnel being built under the road at that point? They'll need one if they relocate all the park operations to the other side of a major highway! It'd be great, because that road is a bit pedestrian-unfriendly at the moment. :)
