This is why they need to pull out all the stops to put on a memorable Scarefest and Fireworks event, whilst also ramping up the marketing. The public who have been fleeced by the media need reminding that incident aside, there's still a great theme park where safety is paramount.
A nice little marketing video with fresh new material rather than rehashed shots wouldn't go amiss either...

They keep doing all these competitions to get ride testers and lots of other not-to-useful things, but have they thought about having a competition for visitors film the rides, maybe winning a fastrack or something. It wouldn't cost them much, it would encourage people to the park, improve their pr, and also give them new footage of the rides.

They don't allow any filming by the GP on park for "health and safety reasons".They keep doing all these competitions to get ride testers and lots of other not-to-useful things, but have they thought about having a competition for visitors film the rides, maybe winning a fastrack or something. They'd have to fill out risk assessments and a bunch of other tosh if they wanted to do this so they may as well hire people out professionally to do it..

You can film off-ride, just not on ride which is what I think @Leah was getting at.

Towers have just posted a new video on their Facebook, randomly it's a POV of sonic, which looks like it's just been filmed! And it has audio and also ITHOTMK! It's as if Alton Towers marketing read these forums

That's a version of ITHOTMK that I've never heard before! Pretty naff POV though, I've seen amateur POVs better than that.Towers have just posted a new video on their Facebook, randomly it's a POV of sonic, which looks like it's just been filmed! Good that they're listening to us though.
Sounds like the original ITHOTMK, but with men singing/talking in a different tone to the normal one. I'm thinking it's a subliminal message. When playing the video, my brother thought it said "nemesis, nemesis!!!!" And I thought it said "merlin pass, merlin pass!!".
Process complete. You have been corrected.

Given the low guest figures I see nothing wrong with cutting operational hours either.
I've noticed Towers are sending an email out too with a link to get 40% off theme park tickets this summer. While that's good I think they need to do one up on that and make it a deal on the website for anyone... not just those who are subscribed to receive emails. Then advertise the hell out of it.
