How will the headsets tell the difference between the train movement and the riders head movement?
They are attached to the ride thoughI honestly can't emphasise how smooth the whole experience is. I'm basing this on Alpen Express, but i'm sure Altons will be just as smooth.
As for the evacuation point, it'll be a case of getting riders to take the goggles off and hand them to the ride host, no real drama
Pretty sure they are attached to the ride, think the dedication video on Alton Towers the guy from Figment productions said its tethered to the ride.I thought they were attached to the bum back type thing? If they are attached, there must be a way of getting them off the riders head and leaving them attached....especially if people can ride without the VR
Like most 360° Videos you tend to have all the action happening at the front and then less important stuff happening in other places.Ian from CF made a good point: Where is the video pointed? Will all the action happen when you're looking down or will you have to constantly be looking up to get the full experience?
If you look at the tunnel floor in the new clip with those 3D triangle arrows it looks v similar to the old concept art for the floor with cadbury heroes too!
John told us: “I was very unsure when I heard they were going to use VR on riders, it felt like a gimmick and I was very sceptical.
“I thought why mess about with it, it is a bloody good ride and still very popular.
“And then I rode the prototype and it was far beyond anything I could have expected.
