When I went to Towers on opening day, there were alot of people vaping and it was getting on my nerves. I wonder if Towers will implement a vaping rule like the smoking rule where they have designated areas instead of smoking in pathways and queuelines. I'm suprised no one on any AT forum has picked up on the Vaping problem yet.
I suppose it's because, ostensibly, they are much less harmful (if at all) than smoking cigarettes. At least, that's what we're being told anyway........... :tinfoil:

No data available if harmful or not most shops have banned vaping because laws on passive smoking and smoking in public places should in my opinion apply to vaping as well as to smoking so I'm surprised Merlin haven't banned them too. To be honest I get annoyed with kids blowing vapour in my kids direction. It's just the vision of the prats with this piece of metal in and out of their mouth thinking they look cool stops me loosing it, because I'm too busy laughing .

I would suggest that the thing that irks me about E-Cigs is having to visibly inhale someone else's vapour. The kids or I don't need that when in somewhere like a theme park.

I realise that this is approaching ridiculous, given that we all breathe the same air - but at least it's just air - no aniseed flavouring, or more importantly - nicotine.

The amount of vape some of those things produce is as comedic as it is ridiculous. There is a guy who drinks in my local who literally vanishes for a good 6 seconds each time he's in full flow. Like the Phoenix Club smoke machine.

It's already in the park entry conditions, smoking including e-cigarettes is only permitted in designated areas. Doesn't mean guests follow the rules and/or they get enforced.

So presumably the people smoking ACTUAL tobacco products is either OK with you, or you just missed it all amidst the smoke? They have a far bigger problem with confining real smoking to designated areas first before they start on the E Cigs.

Everywhere I went on Saturday someone was blowing fag smoke all over me and my children. Being an ex heavy smoker, as soon as I breath in even the slightest bit, I can taste it in my throat for the rest of the day.

Whilst so many people are waltzing around smoking real fags everywhere, I think the park needs to sort that out before they can afford the luxury of being offended by slightly flavoured water vapour.

Easy staff need to confront them, they have no problems with customers with no tops on last summer I noticed the staff warning them. However I have not noticed any tobacco smokers in queue but only vaping. I must ask though can they 100% confirm it's only water vapour they are blowing out in our direction? Answer is no so please I don't want me or my kids poisoning just because of their addiction

It's no surprise to me now that they have fences everywhere, when people seem to be genuinely worried about a bit of flavoured water vapour being somewhere near their personal space for a few moments out of a whole day. This is why we have fences everywhere ladies and gentlemen. Congratulations.

P.S - Your mobile phone has probably been emitting cancer enducing radiation into your bodies for years, but don't worry about that ;)

Staff at the Coffee Lounge in Forbidden Valley were stopping guests smoking outside the cafe last week. Seems like it's being enforced sporadically.

And that's the crux of it... it's against the rules, kids. I think part of the problem with E-cigs is that it's difficult for staff to tell from a distance if is in fact someone vaping or smoking so the blanket ban makes sense.

I don't want nicotine loaded water vapour that has been in your mouth in my kid's mouth - whether it's slightly flavoured or not. I don't understand why that is weird to comprehend.

Maybe my mobile phone does - and if strangers kept putting their mobile phones against my head as I stood in a queue line, I'd take issue with that too.

A friend of mine has just come back from an education trip to the park and they were told that Spinball Whizzer is leaving next season

Hmmm, I'd be very surprised if Spinball went next season. They've just got a new soundtrack for it from IMAscore and it would make sense to remove it at a time when they need a favour from SMDC for a planning application. But then again Towers aren't often logical in their decisions so who knows! I personally hope it doesn't.

:)

If SW8 has a 1.2m height restriction, that could well be the end of Spinball.

They told us Diesel cars were better for us too.....
No "they" didn't. "They" said they weren't as bad as petrols and that the performance of diesel cars was better than it actually was. No one ever claimed a lung full of diesel fumes counted as 1 of your 5 a day.

I've never claimed that vaping over children was pleasant either. But let's get some perspective here, treating vaping over kids the same as ACTUAL smoking all over them is laughable.

Effectively, both issues need sorting out as neither smoking nor vaping out of a designated area is acceptable. Staff at the park seem to walk on by and say nothing. But I see far more fags being smoked around Park than e Cigs and whatever some of you may hear from the Daily Mail or Facebook memes (that probably originated from tobacco companies propaganda dept), the difference between the two is not even in the same ball park.

No but when you offer tax relief for diesel cars and push the ideology that diesel cars are less harmful than petrol then the public will jump on the bandwagon.

Smoking in any form shouldnt be allowed in the park unless for designated areas,
