Probably something like this
Just colour the water brown, need the full rust and dirt soaked water effect
An old friend of mine from school was on park today, and from the photos she put on FB, it didn't look pretty.
Well we wanted a water ride! Now all of them are
The amount of crazy weather all around the world in the last year or so is concerning to say the least. Never seen flooding quite like that at Alton Towers before. I'd imagine there's some water damage in ATH.
No Oblivion, Thirteen or Hex today it would seem.
Oblivion and 13 are now open, I assume it was just delayed whilst they cleared up the mess from yesterday. Hex must still need work.
Hex is now open.
Pleased that they've managed to get them all open and the heavy rain didn't cause any long term damage for any of the rides.
Erm, what happened here?!
Oh nooo!! This is heartbreaking, they were looking so good on Sunday. Really green and smiley. Hope they can get them fixed.
Oh dear, looks like it was a heavy one last night
I was at Towers yesterday and there really was a river going into Smiler's pit. But luckily it was draining very well and there was minimal, if any flooding there. The ride was open later in the day.
Also the frog fountains were fine at park close yesterday, so it must've happened in the night.
Thirteen appears to be having some work carried out to it. Photo from TS FB
No need to hire any scaffolding when they have it permanently onsite! Great forward planning there!
I'm guessing there was damage to the roof following the rain?
Staff said the ride will remain closed all day, Rita should open later in the day. However an hour ago the crane was still on site. And both are still showing as closed.
Had a feeling "Rita should open later" meant "closed all day" and it was.
It opened, just very late.
Looks more likely they are opening the roof to get at the drop tower. I would guess the rain flooded the pit and they need to replace some parts or work on the drop.
