Tbh the zero car is there, the cover just comes off.

it looks like the above shot is set up to film the front car passengers. Likely for tv/advert or similar.

the catch car connects towards the rear of the train car 3 i think on stealth so rita is likely the same

The catch car hooks under car 3 or 4 (can’t remember which) it doesn’t attach to the zero car.

No rollercoaster hooks onto anything with the front car, even lift hills it tends to be car 2 or 3.

What is/are these apps you speak of rick?
Do they involve this modern phenomena of cellular cordless telephony and moonbeams?
Even tried to force one on us for a flat battery on the prom yesterday...dippy just looked at me and grinned.

Today's a sell out by the looks of things. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's the first this season too? Interested to see how heavy the crowds are today

I think the park needs to come up with some way of spreading the crowds around the park at the start of the day better as currently everyone goes to Wicker Man and Smiler first leaving the back of the park pretty empty for the first hour. Whilst this can be beneficial to people in the know who can plan their day around that, it doesn't make a very good first impression to other guests when Smiler and Wicker Man hit 60 mins almost immediately.

Open the Sky Ride when the Park opens would help.
 
Haven't had chance to post since I got back but spent wednesday and thursday at towers and it was amazing. Wednesday was pretty quiet and we managed to get on all the rides we wanted to easily, with several walk ons throughout the day! The overnight stay at the stargazing pods was obviously cramped but overall can't complain. The second day was busier I think due to the weather but over the two days the atmosphere felt great. We went on Funk N Fly and Mixtape and both we pretty enjoyable, and I think they really show the need for flats in the park so I really hope some permanent ones will be brought in. Loved the roaming beefeaters too. There was also audio on the monorail that hinted at a yet to be announced summer event?

Going back to the discussion of routes around the park, on wednesday we started in forbidden valley, then went to dark forest, then x sector, then spinball and wicker man, and finished the day at katanga canyon and this is generally the sort of route I would normally do, and it worked out well!
 
So is it just me that ends up doing a double figure of eight over the day, whole park twice usually, with at least one wander through the gardens, often two, one cross valley path, one round the stepping stones.

The event is called Summerfest I think - just not sure what it's about yet!

Yes sorry this is what I meant- I knew that the posters so far only say summerfest so it seems like the teasing means there's more to it that just a general thing like I initially thought which is exciting!

No last Saturday was a sell out too I think - the day was greyed out on the ticket calendar a few days back in the previous week.
 
Managed to nab the last remaining flat the other day, so I suppose that makes me a member of the Retrosquad, according to the marketing? Although, I don't transform into a topspin, I actually become a toaster, a bin, or something else equally embarrasing. A T-Shirt, at best.

In terms of experience - it's been well discussed that they don't really fit in. They're garish with the loud 80s pop blaring out and the flashy lights demanding attention. They're awkward, but in the context of needing capacity and potentially testing the waters for better, decorated future flats, it's a necessary evil.

I think my favourite of the trilogy would probably be Funk 'n Fly. Really caught me off guard with how whippy the whole thing was and some of the forces it pulled. Mixtape is a really good ride for giggles with some nice pops of airtime. Rollerdisco was pretty weak in my opinion - however that could be because I rode alone and don't really weigh much, so it wasn't exactly optimised for spinning.

These flats are seemingly popular, which is a great thing. Hopefully Towers will be given the budget and planning time to come up with a permanent, themed package involving similar hardware, as they've proven they're vital to a day out. Really fun to be able to split up the day with rides that aren't coasters, especially whilst the indoor attractions are shut!
 
I get that it's a weekend and off course it'll be busy, but today was totally unacceptable. Waited over 2 hrs for wicker man, never waited that long for a towers coaster ever. Waited over an hour for Smiler and Th13teen. The car park was full and the park did feel very busy. I'm really not convinced the capacity has been reduced that much as I've not seen towers that busy for a long time. Still, short queue for nemesis and Oblivion as always on the plus side

a two hour wait is nothing abnormal for the newest coaster on the park.
Reduced capacity doesn’t mean there is fewer people in the park than a normal weekend would get in normal times. Weekends are always busier, the park has also been closed for the first few weeks of the season and it’s not possible to go on overseas holidays. Also with indoor attractions (museums and similar) and other day out options closed (bowling, indoor play etc) there are likely a lot of people who want to go out to theme parks at the moment.
 
Well the park only opened last Monday, we’ve all been cooped up all winter. I think it was to be expected. Sunday doesn’t automatically mean quiet in these circumstances.

Hopefully you can get a mid week visit in soon to make up for it :)

The queues for most the rides weren't too bad tbf, just wicker man and th13teen that were painful. I guess with social distancing on the rides that's to be expected. No social distancing in the queues whatsoever though, which explains why the waits were longer than advertised
 
re: capacity / queues - I believe the park capacity is somewhere in the region of 11000 at the moment. Yesterday they came pretty close to that figure and they might not have been far off today either. These numbers are obviously a long way below the normal capacity but probably aren't much different than a typical weekend around this time of year. With several closed rides and others on reduced capacity it's inevitable there's going to be long queues. I'd estimate WM is running about 40% down on capacity, Thirteen probably 60% down so it's unsurprising that these are amongst the biggest problems right now.

When the remaining rides, sea life, arcades, indoor F&B, etc. can reopen things should improve.
 
I'm having my first visit of the season this Wednesday so hopefully it'll be completely dead for lots of re-rides. I'm pretty curious to see how Wicker Man rides, my last ride on it in October was definitely a bit jolty.
