I agree that it seemed clear what was available for half term (basically not much!), but perhaps as regular visitors who know it’s never the full park at this time of year we are a little biased in this regard.

The fact there have been a number of complaints across social media and quite a few poor trip advisor review suggests the park could be doing a better job at making it clear what is available at this time of year.

I wonder if an entirely different design of the website for winter/summer would help, specifically highlighting what is open during each season in a similar way to Europa Park do. For example the Towers rides and attraction page doesn’t change for winter, so someone having a look at that section could easily think everything would be available.

Even just a small banner on each rides main photo saying ‘reopens 18th March’ would make it much clearer to anyone scrolling through.

I'm not sure just opening Mutiny Bay was the best idea anyway, I don't see why they don't open Cbeebies Land and David Walliams like they do at Christmas. They might have a day trip's worth then.

I guess they don’t have the resources to get them through winter maintenance in time.

Tbh why even have the park open if there's only 2 rides. The Feb half term event has turned into a joke. Probably the most laughable event in the UK.
They had really bad weather a few years ago resulting in most of the ride’s not operating, so scaled back to a hotel, waterpark and sea life only thing. Issue is this year for some unknown reason they let day guests in too.

Ever since Feb half term opening disappeared the pirate weekend has only ever been intended as a way to try to fill the hotels, it's not really a theme park event

I think it was made perfectly clear what would be available at half term. Anyone who thinks they're getting the whole theme park or £15 when ticket prices were over £62 last year clearly hasn't thought about it/or read it. If you're complaining, it's your own fault for not reading.

As for saying it's the most laughable half term event in the UK, I think it's harsh to say we are quite aware it's just a Pirate Takeover. I've seen good things about the shows. It'd be laughable if we expected all big rides open, but we don't. It is exactly the kind of event which it is advertised to be.

Which wasn't the point. It's laughable because it's a nothing event. To think before the smiler incident we had Nemesis Air Oblivion open during Feb and now its turned into a pirate treasure hunt with 2 kids rides. What a downfall

This is what happens when you're in a hurry to throw your money down the toilet without looking at the details. You make a fool of yourself when your family starts crying because it's rubbish and you realise you've been ripped off, so you have to try to save face by blaming someone else.

To be honest, even if The Smiler incident hadn't happened we'd be in exactly the same boat (pirate ship?!) as we are now, thanks to Covid and the current recruitment issues.

And it is the best of the half term events because even BPB are aware of the fact that there is zero money to be made at this time of year.
The local fair today turned us all blue within half an hour.

Painting the station is the definition of trying to roll poop in glitter but it does look better in purple than it did in red.

The glitter worked, but at some point people will start to smell the poop again.

Spoke to a friend the other day who stayed in the cbeebies Hotel and attended the pirate event and the whole family enjoyed it.

Tried the roller coaster restaurant which they said was nice to go in but the food was rubbish and had a terrible selection.

I’m colour blind when it comes to certain shades that look similar to each other, and I’m often told by family that I’m wrong (like if I see yellow, it’s actually green if the shades are similar) but the monorail paint looks purple to me.
