[2024] Thorpe Park: Hyperia - Mack Hypercoaster

Now see, if they shoved nice steel wheels on it from the dead mouse, it would fly round I'm sure.
And still not as rough as the National.
More dead legs than dead mouse (always at the back). But still miss it. Quite like the rumble of Wickerman (a true "woodies coaster"). But the RMC hybrids are truly awesome.

I could fit a Sainsburys shopping trolleys with oblong wheels and it would still be smoother than the ‘nat

Ouch. My thought is if you don't have a fast pass you're going to be queuing for ages due to everyone being in the original queueline once it closed earlier today getting fast passes given out as compensation.
TP have always been decent to us in refunding FP in such situations (even after being used). The "fast" in FP really needs to be, otherwise what's the point.

Still offering FT when it's on one train is an absolute shambles. Nipped in after work today, had a pint and waited for it to open. There were no more than 40 people in front of me when the queue opened and still waited an hour from there.

FT and RAP queues were both completely full when I got off. The batchers would let a train full of RAP through, about half a train of FT and a handful of us plebs in the main queue. Painful.

Based on my wait time you'd be looking at about 4 hours if queueing from the main cattlepen area.

Yikes, that sounds bad... 40pph from the main queue is not good.

They really shouldn't be offering FT when it's only on one train, as it sounds like the throughput is low enough without it at the moment. The main queue must be painful.

Well it’s running at 40pph so yes.
Sorry to ask a naive question, but why is it currently running so slowly? I can understand that running only one train means that it would be running at 50% capacity, but surely Hyperia manages more than 80pph when both trains are running?

40pph is an anecdotal figure from this thread for the main queue based on them prioritising FT and RAP due to the earlier downtime.

I was on park today, Hyperia was about 2-3hrs wait when it was open. 1 train operations. We had to leave at 7pm so didn’t get on it. Being in the queue looking up at it but not being able to ride was so excruciating. It went down when we were an hour into queuing.

Will try to get on it in 2025 now but also not keen on making multiple visits to Thorpe just to try and ride this and having the constant anxiety on the day about it’s downtime. Park was a good buzz today though, great lightning around at dusk too for fright nights, very atmospheric. The music around the Hyperia plaza is also brilliant.
