2025: General Discussion

The maintenance work they did definitely wasn't bodged, it was on the previous occasions when it had to keep closing. It was a full repair with Vekoma. It just might not be open on the buyout days, there might be nothing more to it than that.

Yes no one doubts Vekoma were working on it but it wouldn’t surprise me if the work done last year wasn’t as effective as they expected and have had to do more this closed season.

Going with promoting “areas” really highlights how barren each area actually is, Dark Forest and X Sector especially standing out as very empty with just 2 coasters

Really highlights the need for flats
8 rides between Forbidden Valley, Dark Forest and X-Sector is laughable considering these are the premiere areas of the park. I feel like you used to be able to spend a couple of hours in each one back in the day and now it's just a quick tick I've done the 2 rides let's move on somewhere else. It hardly seems worth the walk sometimes.

Hopefully once Forbidden valley is finished in say 2030 they might move onto another area of the park.

Looking at the map there's nothing given away, so it doesn't look like there will be any surprises this year that we don't already know about. Completely removing the dungeons building is a strange one but I guess it's better to not showcase empty buildings on the map.

Evidently you’ve never been to scarefest. You try getting on those 8 rides in less than 8 hours

The 2025 map is here, and it’s certainly giving late 90s VIBES with the area bubbles.

Updates include the introduction of Toxicator, and the removal of the Blade, the Dungeons, Flavios and the stage on the front lawns.

1. I quite like the map. It probably is because of the retro 90's feel to it because those are the days I remember most fondly about Towers. (90's into early 2000's era is unrivalled.

2. The lack of rides I'm interested in doing is decreasing by the year though. I think it's now down to 12/13 max that i'd ever bother with. Not ideal for the country's premier park.

3. World of David Walliams needs to be ripped out and replaced with something better very soon. It's a terribly drab area with hardly anything to do there.

I have been to scarefest and I understand your point. 8 rides in 8 hours is not great and it's likely you won't even get to do all 8 during scarefest. I meant there being enough to do to spend a couple of hours in the area without it all being in queue lines.

I think what I'm trying to get at is without the supporting rides the areas feel void, you only go there to ride the coasters and then move on. Each area used to feel like it was a completely different park, there was so much excitement with the contrasting themes and entertainment. I remember standing and watching rides like Ripsaw, submission and Boneshaker and just enjoying the general VIBES of the park. There was also non-rides that added to the areas such as soak-a-souras and i remember the music being so much more prominent than it is now.

Maybe it's the grown up in me now, but it used to feel a lot more of a magical place and now it feels like a to-do list to get some actual value out of the visit, and not come away knowing you only got to go on 4 rides in 8 hours, all whilst seeing you completed 30,000 steps.

The ride line up at the UKs premier park is now utterly woeful.

I’m hoping the place is struggling and they look at introducing a new flat into at least X sector soon.

At the current rate of spend I can’t even fathom how long it could take to get the park back to where it was 15 years ago.

2025: Intoxicator
2026: New CBeebies coaster
2027: X sector flat
2028: Project Horizon
2029: Dark Forest flat
2030: Dungeons retheme
2031: 4D cinema retheme
2032: Air replacement
2033: X sector flat
2034: Blade replacement
2035: Dark Forest flat
2036: Oblivion replacement

Probably what we will be looking at given current trends.

Alton needs a couple of years of 2 attractions, one at the start of the season and one mid season. But I’m not holding my breath at all. That’s with no removals and 1 new ride on new land.

Good luck to them.

I like the look of Toxicator on the map

Also like the retro vibe. Make you think - with this and Toxicator - are the park trying to go back to 2002?
