In same way there is are Apple fanboys, there are Alton fanboys too, who wont let a bad word be said against the park. Same with everything in life I guess. At least with Alton they are building a brand new ride, rather than adding some faster wheel bearings to Nemesis, ramping up the price to ride it and releasing it as a whole new product, called "Nemesis S"

Queuing up for hours for the release of a consumer device simply to have it first is a terrible, terrible surrender to capitalism and consumerism. Queuing and rushing to give a company your money in return for a cold piece of unnecessary technology before anyone else is simply embarrassing.willb said:

I view Apple the same way I view Merlin... a company that has grown so big in a relatively short space of time, that they have become cocky. They think they are so good that they no longer have to try.
No company should ever be allowed to get this big. Both Apple and Merlin deserve to crash and burn.

I find it bizarre that Apple users are viewed as snobs.
If we were to look at statistics, if anything, it's the Samsung users that should be the snobs at the moment.
The Apple vs. Everyone divide got boring years ago. It. is. just. a. phone. An expensive phone at that, but if you like the interface Apple uses and have the money then there's certainly no problem with that!
It's just like anything else in life. We all have a favourite food, film, tv show, animal... we don't always agree with each others tastes but we just ignore it. Phones are no different, it's a personal taste. Some people like Apple for their own reasons, some like Android phones for their own reasons. Doesn't mean either side has the better phone, or is the better person. All of our phones provide us with the same foundations, they all do the same thing, it's just up to you which brand attracts you as an individual and whether you view the price as acceptable within your financial boundaries.

I have a first gen iPad, which I have never stopped slating since I got it. I have never recomended it to anyone because of it's major flaws. It has ONE use: surfing... and even then, it crashes several tmes an hour.
However, I still use it because I paid a shagload of cash for it and I intend to get my money's worth. Will I buy another one? Not a chance.
I will agree with you on one thing though, my old school iPod works fine. Probably because it is only designed to play music, not try and be a jack of all trades.

I prefer high end phones from the period just before Android and IOS. They had the exact same functionality, if not more, smartphones in every way except the name, and because they were designed inhouse, everything worked because the designers weren't trying to adapt the phone to someone else's system. Plus is made phones more unique instead of the bland black mirrors most 'smartphones' are.
Plus touchscreens are the work of Satan. I miss old phones. Do you have any idea how hard it was to find a smartphone with buttons that wasn't practically a tablet or £999999999999?

Capitalism by its very nature creates corporate oligarchies which suppress ethical alternatives and ends up giving the consumer very limited binary choices such as: Apple or Windows. Tesco or Asda. etc...
So if you want/need consumer goods, it's made near impossible to boycott unethical providers. Therefore I think it's still well within Diogo's right to be both a consumer of the Apple products but still criticise it's shady and unethical conduct, as long as there is recognition that pretty much all the other alternatives are equally corrupt. Otherwise that would just be consumer cherry picking.

It's ethical, not-for-profit and very high quality on the desktop. I used it for many years, and am considering switching back with my next laptop.

I personally like my Iphone since it elimates about four devices for me at the same time as looking and feeling good. As for the new IPhone I have had my 4 for two years and I want a change. Its as simple as that. To be honest you dont see many phones that last two plus years in the phone market any way.
