Firstly, Food Loop is an absolute must. Whilst the food isn't amazing (although it's certainly nice), the overall experience is unlike anything else at a theme park. Other places I can recommend are the Greek canteen near Cassandra, and Tarte Flambee in France (next to the Euro Tower). They are both fairly unique, and are also fantastic.

The only place I've eaten off-resort is Apres Park, which is a pizzeria adorned with Europa merchandise. It's reasonably priced, and they do a pretty good currywurst pizza.

Thanks for the response - unfortunately, we didn't get to read it before visiting. We swung by Food Loop a couple of times but didn't really fancy the food there, which looked quite substantial. There were also queues most of the day, so we gave it a miss. We ended up eating in the evening at the Colosseo buffet (pretty good - particularly deserts) and at Silver Lake Saloon (OK food, but very slow service). During the day we ate at Mille Fleurs (decent pizza for the price) one day, and some Asian place in Holland (average).

The Sunday was pretty quiet. Longest queue of the day was 35 minutes (Wodan), and the park stayed open until 7pm. Monday was busier, with longest queue being 40 minutes and the park weirdly only open until 6.30pm. All in all we managed to do Wodan (x5), Blue Fire (x5), Silver Star (x5), Euro Mir (x5), MatterhornBlitz (x2), Swiss Bobsleigh Run (x2), Euro Sat, Universe of Energy, Ghost Castle, piccolo Mondo, EuroTower, Poseidon, Cassandra's CUrse, Pegasus, Atlantis Adventure, Pirates in Batavia, Fjord Rafting, Alpine Coaster & Atlantica SuperSplash - so I think we did pretty well.

It's a lovely park. Really wonderful theming and rides, and run pretty nicely - although I do think that improvements could be made. The level of finish wasn't quite what it could have been in some areas, and the cleanliness was so-so in some areas. Most rides were great, although I think they're short of a really great dark ride. Hopefully Arthur helps that. Silver Star, Blue Fire, Euro Mir and Wodan are all excellent and really get better with repeat riding.

For a student living in the capital and having family on the countryside in Germany the transportation market is revolutionizing right now. Reason is a law lifted that guaranteed a monopoly on long distance transportation to the German Rail (DB) - Result: The new players on the national transport markets are long distance buses. I am not sure but it might be of interest for you guys that this long distance busses also drive to Europa Park on a daily basis. This means you can save a lot of money compared to the shuttle, and a lot of time/ transfers compared to the train/bus option. I present you a few basic information:

I used meinfernbus a few times now and I liked it. Drivers were super friendly and I received messages on my phone if the bus was late. Don’t expect the on board wifi to be super-fast.. it’s okay for surfing but won’t let you stream properly. AC worked on all of my journeys.
I hope this will facilitate you journeys to Europa and increase the number of potential airports to fly into Germany.

Yes. Both the 1-person and family (2 adults travelling together) Europass 24h are available.

I was wondering the same but it's available from the blue ticket machines under (I think) international tariffs or tickets.

The price is the same as it is from the city centre, making it even better value.

The Europass covers your entire journey from Strasbourg Airport to Europa-Park.

1. Train to Strasbourg (10 min)
2. Train to Offenburg (25 min)
3. Train to Ringsheim (25 min)
4. Shuttle bus to EP (10 min)
 
My advice is - get your effing ass there and let Roland bathe you in love.

You won't be disappointed :D
 
I don't know if anyone's picked up on this yet, but Ryanair have launched a new route from Stansted to Basel, and easyJet are launching a new route from Luton to Basel. Ryanair's route is flying once a day each day of the week, and easyJet's route will fly six days a week (no Saturdays). Gives a couple more options for travelling to EP, and prices seem relatively reasonable, too!
 
This is good. Luton used to offer a Basel flight a few years ago. With Strasbourg also now an option, it's great to see possibilities opening up for EP.

You are allowed to bring your own food and drink (regardless if alcoholic or not). There are several picnic areas in the park. Of course it is not allowed to eat and drink your own things at restaurants and cafés in the park. :)
 
I'm flying to Baden Baden on Wednesday, I was quoted 145 euros each way with a shuttle! I'm planning on making my own way there from the airport but thinking of booking it coming back (my forte is not being on time for flights) any tips for the journey there? Thanks also for the fab info on here, I love it, it's the only reason I'm going! My husband on the other hand doesn't like theme parks and is moaning about money, I'm hoping europa will show him the light!
 
We are going via train from Strasbourg to EP and getting a europass ticket. On the way back, likewise we opted for a taxi at a fairly ridiculous cost of €99. Its very expensive, but the thought of missing the flight makes me shake with fear as it is, so I guess its not too bad and makes sure we should be at the airport on time.

The only SRQs at EP are on Blue Fire, Wodan and (I think) Arthur. And there's also no Fastrack system at the park at all, in case you were wondering.
 
Oh that's great! Glad there's no fast track, I've always been against it.
