Can someone please provide live updates from the Icon/Enso queue on opening day? Gonna be 100's of confused enthusiasts lined up for a spin.

I was reading a comment on Linked In about Disney World's new Star Wars hotel. Someone pointed out that in every review and article, the thing that gets talked about the most is the cost (about $6,000 for two nights). Even if it's a cool experience, you don't want the cost to be the most talked about feature. Isn't there a danger of the same thing here with Enso? Even if it is a fun ride, the cost will always be the thing people talk about. Even if people don't go on it, you'll still have lots of visitors going away and talking about the £15 extra charge to sit on a spinning seat.

It’s a good point. I wonder how many kids are going to be badgering their parents to go on the “new” ride only to realise it’s an up charge.

The reception was fairly muted when they built it, if they create an 'avalanche' of interest when they mod it, every credit to them.

Made my first visit to the Pleasure Beach last Saturday as a fully paid up Annual Pass holder. We had a decent day with minimal queues.

We had a “staycation” stopping at the Stuart Hotel opposite the Big Blue Hotel. We’ll definitely use that now as my go to hotel. Plenty of free parking on Clifton Drive as well.

Anyone know how strict the “no picnics” policy is, as it’d have been beneficially to me (not the PB) if we could take our own food in without it getting confiscated.

One thing we did notice though was that pretty much every teenage group all vaped (I always thought vaping was a means to quit smoking cigarettes) It’s a shame it’s not classed the same as smoking and banned from queue lines.

It varies. On one out of three visits I got told to put my packed lunch in a locker. On my other two visits security didn't see it or didn't say anything. If they stop you, there's a picnic area next to the crazy golf, across the road from the Casino Building.

You might not believe it, but just across the road and beyond the heritage tram terminus there's actually a beach too...

It is classed the same and banned from queue lines. But guests don’t follow the rules.

Smoking

Please note smoking, including e-cigarettes, is not permitted in any queue lines for rides at Blackpool Pleasure Beach or in the Nickelodeon Land area of the park. Guests are kindly requested to observe this at all times.”

Disappointing it’s not observed at all. The queue line air continuously smelt of strawberry candy floss exhaled by the youth of today.

I'm more annoyed that they're harping on about Enso and meanwhile there's still no Big One, Grand National or Valhalla...
Big One is testing. Valhalla was always going to be summer. The Grand National is getting the investment that we've been crying out for for years.

Not to nitpick on your picnic but I think what you're describing is a single 4 seater picnic bench ?

You can take a picnic in if you have "Special dietry requirements"

EDIT: Well the orignal post I thought was quite humorous , but unfortunately I have been slapped on the wrist by the moderators.
Sorry chaps, I will accept my punishment, and as someone once told me -- Never mention Politics or Religion -- Point taken.
