Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2024 Discussion

Revolution must be nearing the end of its service life. If they can get it to 50 years then it's impressive for an arrow looper. You would hope PB are thinking of what might replace it but I suspect not but it's had increasing unreliability over the last couple of seasons.
That is impressive for Revolution to reach nearly 50 years. I'm hoping it makes it to 50.

I'm thinking Revolution and Avalanche may be chosen for development when they decide to do Grand Prix for something big or two. I'd also imagine Space Invader's building could go at the same time.

Both of those rides are classics and I’d be upset to see either of them go.

It’s a shame Mack Bobsleds aren’t that popular. Would love to see a new installation somewhere.

I don't think Mack Bobsleds are made anymore. It doesn't seem like they make classic log flumes anymore.

Neither model shows up on the Mack Rides website as ride models they currently sell.

If any new bobsled coasters do show up, I'm thinking it'll be a new generation model.

I'd definitely be upset to see both coasters go however I'd be very happy if the rides that replace both coasters are superior rides.

Mandy seems to have a really good relationship with the Mack family, if Rev and Avalanche are nearing the end of their service life she should ask her friends to design her a nice new Xtreme Spinning Coaster to take their place.

You never know, Mandy might be considering a Hyperia clone so Blackpool can claim the height record of 258ft from sea level 😜

A few things I've forgot to post

- The box structure from the top of Ice Blast is on the floor next to the ride
- Lokis is closed, and the front is covered in scaffolding up to the roof
- Enso not planned to operate for the rest of the season (It's already been off for a couple of weeks)
- Big One Sweets shop has been emptied, and the sweet shop at the park exit is mostly empty. Absolutely bizarrely they're still herding people out through it!
- Taxi spin has had the taxis removed

As for Rev, I understand there's work planned for the structure itself over the winter

The issue with Revolution is if you do remove it is that it really doesn't actually take up much space for a replacement. Could maybe get a Sky Rocket 2 (or the Zamperla version), or maybe a Vekoma super boomerang.

You’re right John, the way the structure for Revolution tiptoes around the elements beneath it means you’ll free up hardly any meaningful space without ripping out loads of other stuff - the Alpine BBQ and Dodgems for example.

I’ve said it before - there’s loads of open space now available in the existing park, between Trauma Towers, the Millenium Bug arcade, Bowladrome, Grand Prix and upstairs of Bug Pizza Kitchen to name a few.

Didn’t realise it was so old! I always thought corkscrew was the UK or Europes first inverting coaster.

The Corkscrew with Bayerncurve model was Europe's first coaster to contain a double inversion / double loop. I believe it was technically a travelling ride. The first installation was at Walibi Belgium in 1979. Corkscrew arrived at Alton Towers in 1980, as the UK's first coaster with two inversions.

Revolution does invert twice, but only has one inversion, being a shuttle coaster.
