Alternatively, consider that 'creds' are an arbitary willy-swinging competition fostered by over-determined US coaster enthusiasts with more money than sense, and that really it's just about having a nice time, rather than charting up statistics. That's just me though!
If your parents are intent on rushing to ICON first thing they’ll be waiting half an hour for it to open.
I equally don’t really get the cred thing. It’s nice to have an idea how many coasters you’ve been on, but if half of them are wacky worms does it really matter? Enjoy them for what they are, not what number they are on some superficial list.
Personally I don't get the cred / ride count thing either. I prefer to enjoy the rides, atmosphere of the park and company (unless I'm alone of course!) than have my head stuck in a phone (someone may have to explain to
@rob666 what a mobile telephone is) or a notebook updating ride numbers etc.
The only exception to this, and the only time I've scribbled notes down, was the day when for a laugh I decided to ride each ride in order from newest to oldest, starting with Skyforce (pre-Icon visit) and ending with Flying Machines. I decided to exclude Valhalla & Lost River Flume because I couldn't be arsed with having wet shoes all day nor did I want to cut into the time by going back & forth to a locker to change clothes/shoes & it wasn't a warm enough day to dry out in the sun! I also left out the Giant Spinning Plate of Evil (Airbender) after nearly losing my lunch the only time I'd been on it, and the kiddy rides in Nick Land, but I did of course ride Streak & Blue Flyer. Stopped briefly for lunch but otherwise it was straight from one ride to the next on the list. In some cases it was a fair walk (Ice Blast to The Big One) but I made myself do them in order and the exercise was part of the fun. Somewhere I will still have the tatty piece of paper with the ride opening dates on & the timings of when I rode them, how long it took to walk between them, etc. The only rides that took up much time really were Skyforce (waiting for planes to fill up as it was quiet) and Flying Machines, as it takes ages for the flaming things to slow down, get people on it and get the ride going. At least that was the last ride of the day. Oh and I didn't do Impossible cos its rubbish and if I want to see a room spinning in front of me, I'd sooner have 10 pints first. Sadly the Wild Mouse was 'closed for maintenance' as well, gutted that I didn't to it a season earlier really. Still, I must have done over 20 different rides.
Actually reading that back, that was a VERY nerdy thing to do. Other than that I never feel compelled to do anything in order or count rides etc! Might post my timings when I find the sheet, it really is impressive how quickly you can go from ride to ride at BPB on a quiet day. I don't think you'd get on 20+ different rides at any other park in such a short timeframe
