It really is coming together nicely and looks lovely in the sun!

:)

Some shallow water, similar to on Infusion, might have looked nice. Or just some plants and flowers. Or just not AstroTurf unless they want it to look like our Wacky Worm at Codona's.
The issue with shallow water is it makes access to maintain the ride much more difficult, for example the doors to the maintenance shed which are on the front facing side (Coasters side).

Really loving how this is turning out. The blossom paintings on the buildings are a nice touch and I like how the red posts have bled in and around Dipper and Steeplechase.

I don't mind the super-shiny gold logo, however it looks a bit OTT on the 1st photo on Rob's post. Looks too much like the Globe.

Appreciating the suggestion it isn’t finished, with the exception of the station I am liking the stylisation of the Icon area. Think they have got it spot on.

Still slightly worried about the pacing of the ride but we won’t know for sure until we get on it.

I think the theming and decoration looks great, a very unique idea and executed well with small touches, will have a lovely vibe with the soundtrack playing out.

Only thing I'm not a fan of is the gold plated wall, the pattern looks great on the staircase but a bit too much across the entire wall - personally I think rocks (or even the duller tiles used on the shop etc) would have looked better.

Either way, they've done a brilliant job with the theme, now just a few days to go until I know how good the ride is!

I was harsh on the theming before, but now it's all coming together I think it looks very smart. Still not keen on the station though.

Just noticed the gold plated wall, that's so Blackpool :tearsofjoy:

:)

I think pacing is going to be a fun one.
They will have to boost the speed in high winds to make sure the train completes the circuit...quicker rides on windy days?
Which in Blackpool is most days!
Less than a week now, can't wait.

Less than 5 days now!

Cheers for everyone posting updates on this page, I've not been able to get back to Blackpool since the opening weekend so it's been great being able to follow the construction. Got about 6 days worth of visits to the park starting from Saturday to make up for it though.

The geometry of the first airtime hill means the train can only traverse it at a certain speed. That speed is fairly slow if people aren’t going to red out.

There cannot therefore be any great difference in launch speeds. If the speed is altered at all, it would probably only be to get it over that first element. For the speed to be noticeably increased around the remainder of the ride, it would have to traverse that first element at an equally faster pace. As I say, it can’t go that much faster over that first element, so the rest of the ride is unlikely to be any faster due to any increased launch speed.

I not saying loads of extra speed venny, just that nice little extra boost.
I know the biggest issue with the big one is wind performance (ooh err missus),
but I suppose Icon being lower will not be affected as much.

RMC disagree...... :p

I have to say, while some of it is questionabale, I’m very impressed to the levels of ‘stylisation’ PB have gone to with this ride. I say stylised, because it’s not really themed. But it’s certainly looking good.

I have to say, those Japanese Acers are looking wonderful around that central obelisk like structure. Though while very fitting, it is a questionable choice to put them out in the open in Blackpool. A plant that instantly burns in a full sun/windy aspect

It’s times like this having a degree in shrubbery and decking pays off!

Well, that's my infonugget for the day learnt. No I can switch my brain off without feeling guilty!

Great pics. Sorry if I’ve missed this, and I doubt there’d be photos anyway (as they’d have to have been taken from Steeplechase!) but there are several silver turtles around the Steeple / Dipper S-bends, along with more of the red posts. I guess these are from the old turtle hill where the Turtle Chase ride used to be. They were on the North car park over closed season (or maybe the one before), and it’s great to see them back.
