Have fun all. I believe the ride will be open from 1pm or so.
Seems a bit late when the park closes at 5pm?
EDIT: Can confirm, early reports that ride will open from 11am for VIP Boarding card holders then early afternoon for the general public. Hope that isn't the same the whole weekend...
EDIT EDIT: Conflicting reports at the moment. The ride is apparently officially open but this isn't the first time I heard that it was opening later

Ride is open to everyone; queue only 5/10mins.
Not as busy as they were hoping then? I'm sure the weekend will be rammed though.

The park and Icon opened to everyone at 11am.
More impressed each time I ride it as it warms up, don't think there's a bad seat on it. Think the back row could be the best though.
Very mixed reviews on social media, 50% of people seem disappointed 50% think it’s the best ride in the universe.....

I thoroughly enjoyed this ride. It's stunning. Agreed, it's not the fastest, steepest, longest, most inverted, with any crazy new gimmicks...sorry...elements but it is a prime example of what happens when you have faith and let Engineers/Designers crack on with their jobs without large corporations dictating what gimicks and records it should have for the sake of marketing. Well done to every person involved in this.

For people who have ridden Blue Fire and Helix, how does this hold up against them?

An enthusiast and a member of the GP are two very different "monsters" indeed. I'd imagine that the vast majority of enthusiasts will love it and appreciate it for what it is. Mack mega coaster means a lot in this rather small circle of ours.
However I can foresee quite a lot of the GP being underwhelmed as Mack mega coasters mean very little to them and they will simply judge it off speed, height and inversions.
I won't get to ride it for another 3 weeks and quite frankly I don't give two hoots about the GP, other than obviously the park need it to do fairly well to make their cash back. I know I will enjoy it so that's all that counts really. It looks stunning it really does.

Most say it's better than Blue Fire but not quite Helix. I have heard a couple say it's better than Helix though. For people who have ridden Blue Fire and Helix, how does this hold up against them?

It's kind of encouraged me to get out there and try them out.

I guess one of the problems Blackpool have with this ride regarding GP reaction to it, is that the general public have been conditioned to believe that the bigger and faster and the more inversions means the best ride. Blackpool themselves did this with The Big One, so getting people out of that mindset and getting them to appreciate what really makes a ride great may be difficult.

I can tell without even riding it's not going to be as good as Helix. But then that's not an insult as helix is widely recognised as the best Mack coaster and also one of best coasters of any manufacturer on the planet.
If it's better than Blue Fire then Blackpool are on to a winner. Can't wait to ride it all day.
