Busch Gardens Williamsburg: General Discussion

Very pleased to hear that it has reopened. Looking forwarding to riding it again in a couple of weeks!

:)

Seems like it, will learn more soon!
Ooh, exciting stuff! Thanks @MakoMania; if BGWFans are teasing it to this extent, I'm going to take a stab in the dark and guess that the park is planning a B&M giga coaster with a Spanish theme alongside a possible Spain themed area. It would make sense with the 315ft height waiver too, in my opinion.

So BGW fans seem to think it could be a 300ft+ rollercoaster with a huge drop down into the valley.

From BGW Fans:

  1. The Project Madrid impact area is isolated to the Festa Italia-side of the Rhine River.
  2. Two curving lines of (very large) footers in ravines makes it next to impossible to believe that this is anything other than a roller coaster.
  3. Working on the assumption that the footers above are for a coaster, it appears that said coaster would feature one of the park’s signature drops down towards the Rhine River.
  4. The park was granted a height waiver for 315 feet above grade. If this coaster reaches that height and dives into the Rhine River’s ravine, the first drop on this attraction could be truly monumental.

Ooh! This sounds like something to keep an eye on, in my opinion! 2020 is sure set to be an exciting year for BGW by the sounds of things, and whatever this ride turns out to be, I have faith in SeaWorld to produce something awesome!
EDIT: Just had a thought. Depending on how deep the Rhine River ravine is, could this potentially snag Kingda Ka's record for world's tallest roller coaster drop?

Another fire at BGW, just happened. Apparently it's in the New France area of the park and evacuation of that area is ongoing.
Oh dear! Where did it occur, out of interest? I hope no major damage has occurred!

Wardleys Woodie perhaps?

Nice to hear! However personally I wasn't as impressed with the Screamin Swing at Thorpe Park as I thought I would be.

That's because Rush is no longer run on full power, it used to be great!

I think this is a brilliant addition for BGW, the Ireland area of the park is lacking in rides.

:)

The Ireland area needs rides - and Busch need some good flat rides.

Project Madrid update! There are reports that it will in fact be a multi-launch shuttle coaster reaching a top speed of 76mph. Doesn't sound like the 300ft coaster that we are expecting unless the drop is heavily trimmed.

It is not known whether the document seen is a final version though.

:)
