Camelot - gone for good?

Yeah, the cats of the round table or something like that. I recall it being on the left as you entered the park.

Have to admit I quite enjoyed it as a nice distraction and also it was crackers.

Tokaydo Express on a bad day.
I took stick, and lost cred with my clients.
Shame on you King Arthur.
I pulled that sword out of the stone for nothing?

Hilarious, that gave me a good belly laugh! Venom looks utterly crap I must say. I will dig out some pics from my last visit there. Gotta say I loved Knightmare, the Log Flume, the boat water slides, & when I was younger the Dragon Flyer coaster that went round the park. Glad I picked up a fridge magnet on my last visit! Happy memories. Also just remembered my Dad going on Falcon's Fury balloon ride, and then having to side down for 20 mins after as he felt sick. I have inherited his hatred of spinny rides.

More stuff here

I think what destroyed Camelot was the fact that their marketing was very poor and the adverts weren't very good in its final years. Camelot blamed it on the Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee for lack of visitor numbers, but I think as well as that, the two accidents got them fined a lot! One was on a ride called Excalibur 2 and the other was on a rollercoaster called the Gauntlet.

The company that owned Camelot purposely ran the park into the group until it became completely unprofitable with the plan to build housing on the land. Their application to build housing was rejected by the local council, so we essentially lost Camelot because it got sold to the wrong type of investors.

If it wasn't in Margate, I'd probably consider buying this, but getting the Mouse cars was painful enough.

Some of the metal work on the back of the car looks a bit bent out of shape where i believe one of the trains smashed on the motorway from what i heard! Wonder what it's doing in Margate interesting to see it again though it looks a bit sad! Better splash out the cash before Mr Shawn Sanbrooke gets his hands on it!
