Camelot - gone for good?

This is awful to hear. I hope Knightmare and the other attractions aren't effected.

Is there anything left apart from knightmare and has anyone heard news from the fire, some of us should come put the fire out, bring lots of flatbed trucks to steal knight are and assemble at Alton Towers!;) If it was arson I really do not get why people try to burn things down.

If you look on the pleasurewood hills fansite there is talk of Knightmare of there. The park were interested but put off by the asking price, £1.5m apparently.

So I guess it is still for sale.

Yeah they enquired but the price was too high. They then said it had been sold to a park in Iraq of all places but that clearly didn't happen...

What ever Pleasurewood Hills offered, the ride is probably worth 1/10 of that now.

The length of time the ride has spent out of use, exposed to the elements means it is going to require a fair amount of work and new parts to get it back to a safe operating level.

Looks like Knightmare may have found a new home :)

Blimey. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly nature takes over abandoned places.

what a shame wasa great little park.....would love to win the euromillions rollover and buy it !

I went to Camelot lots when I was younger, it's sad and strange to see the images of what it looks like now.

Knightmare wasn't there on my last visit to Camelot, but it sounds like a good ride. Was it a last ditch attempt to save the park? As people have said there were rumours about it closing which I believe began earlier than the date they acquired Knightmare.

Went past Camelot on the M6 on my way to Blackpool yesterday (Sunday). Knightmare's still standing there, unsurprisingly. I've got the feeling nothing's going to be done about it for years, and it'll just be left to rust away. :(

I looked going the other way, on the way down to the Towers.
There is little chance of Camelot reopening, the place is rotting badly.
Knightmare is sadly nothing but a pile of rusting metal, and with the price of that going through the floor, I imagine it is beyond economic value to scrap it.
I think it will be a folly on the skyline for some years to come sadly.

Edited to make sense...bloody 'puter keeps skipping.

They've been slowly demolishing what was left of Camelot for the last year or so, by now Knightmare will be pretty much all that's left. All we can do is hope it's not decayed beyond repair, it's far too good a ride to go out like this.

It's got an operating clone in Grona Lund, and it's a fantastic ride the drop after the MCBR (think it was called 'Psycho Drop' or something similar) is super intense, one of the best drops around.
