On Matt Hancock’s language about the second wave and preparing for it, I suppose it’s better to be safe than sorry. I’d much rather be threatened with one and it not come due to good preparations than be told one won’t come and then get hit with one. This isn’t over, and won’t be for a while.

I disagree. There is absolutely no need to describe it as a second wave, which is wrong anyway as the first wave needs to be suppressed before a second can occur (the WHO acknowledged that yesterday). Most people know there are spikes and localised outbreaks across Europe but to describe it as second wave is not right. Some people were just coming out from behind their sofas and talk like that just sends them scurrying back. My mum is one of them as she's been on the phone already panicking about this second wave and doesn't want to leave the house again. Words need chosen carefully these days.

What, that he talks of the indisputable fact that cases have been rising here? How dare he mention that.
That people still need to follow the social distancing advice? That if they don't a return to lockdown is a real possibility? The scoundrel.
That where rises have been recorded abroad full on localised outbreaks have happened? That if that were to happen here it wouldn't likely to be localised as we are much more densely populated and more mobile? The outrage.
It's literally his job to point that out.

It could well be the start of a second wave, it might not turn into a full reoccurrence, it surely already is in the localised areas effected; you have a peak, you have a trough, you go up towards another peak. That's a wave. To dismiss that as not a massive threat would be stupid and reckless.
I disagree, it is here where I live.
A clear second peak.
Barcelona, lots of young people out clubbing with the locals while on holiday.
Come back infected, no symptoms, pass it on through family generations.
Even with quarantine probably.

Company listed on the stock exchange says good things about a potential product that nobody can disprove. Be careful of diving in both feet first there @Matt N. I'm not clicking the sun article but am I assuming it's nabbed the same quote from the CEO along the lines of could be 12 months, 18 months, 2 years, who knows?
What's actually worrying is that they've been granted immunity against future liability claims in some countries regarding the COVID vaccine. Working out who will fork out for the any side effects down the line is proving tricky if it becomes a mandatory vaccine.
