In terms of buffets, Wales guidance is a little more clear. Buffets do not have to provide table service (for food), however drinks must be served by table service, and it is recommended that a member of staff serves the food (however this is up to individual restaurants).

Don't worry, if you not seen or read hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy. You won't get it.

In it the dolphins left earth before it destroyed.

Ah thanks for explaining!
This feels less like doomsday and more planet earth going "screw humans for the next several years"

Fed up with people clutching at arguments against some of the rules.

Some of the replies from people who spoke in the news today are trying to compare apples with oranges.
For example,
“We can’t have a group of 10 people going out and having a beer but you can go out and shoot grouse with 30 people,"
Yes, outdoor sport is still allowed, you can have 22 people kicking a ball round outdoors as well. But the fact managed outdoor sport is permitted doesn't mean you can have a piss-up.

Or students complaining they are still with strangers inside their flat, well tough you have moved in and they are your new household. If you didn't want to live with "strangers" you should have stayed somewhere else.

“If people are in controlled venues with track and trace then that’s safer than closing everything at 10pm and pushing people into uncontrolled private parties.” This is true, but if you are a group of only six anyway then why didn't you save some money and stay at home instead.

Sorry, but anyone who sees shooting grouse (or any other animal in fact) as "organised sport" is the absolute bloody scum of the Earth. That should not be an exception.

Usual case of rules being adapted to suit the Tory elite.

Whether hunting should be a sport in general is a separate issue.

But if that shouldn't go ahead then no outdoor sport should. I don't see the difference for covid reasons between allowing hunting and allowing football. Both involve 20+ people outdoors. If anything football is a greater risk as it involves more running and therefore heavier breathing while in closer contact (tackling).

Trying to compare outdoor sport with indoor socialising is like comparing apple and oranges. But if you want to ban outdoor team sport due to covid then should all be banned.

As all organised outdoor sport is still permitted, I don't see it as Tories looking after themselves, I think it is the science showing being outdoors is lower risk.

There's a massive difference between the professional football mob still playing (the recent Spurs documentary cast a brief eye on it), compared to a kick about with mates in the park.

Indeed, even professional games are still open to postponement as proven this week.

However that when the wording was first put into place, that there was SPECIFIC exemption for grouse shooting (not hunting generally) shows the disconnect from normal life those in charge have.

ok, I hadn't seen that (and I've checked quite a few of the government pages), so yes there may be a point about priorities of people writing guidance.

But in terms of the risk level, it is quite low risk if organised and managed properly. Similar to organised outdoor sport. I don't think kickabouts with more than six are permitted as its seen as social, it has to be formally organised sport to be allowed.

I think grouse shooting was singled out as it’s only a short season and we are in the middle of it.
If that’s what floats your boat then you have as much right to do that as any other outdoor sport, fishing is also cruel but that seems to miss the public outcry.

Yeah, grouse shooting has its own issues but in terms of covid safety its exemption in is in line with other activities in a similar setting with similar number and density of participants over an area that are also exempt.

The wilful misinterpretation of the simple advice and obvious reasons for restrictions to try to make barbed political points continues I see. All very silly.

The advice is clear, the advice makes sense in terms of transmission reduction balanced against economic cost and civil liberties, and the advice has updated at sensible intervals as the wider situation changes.

Stay safe.

Very, very good news; a group of researchers in Florida think that they may have found a coronavirus treatment that is nearly 100% effective: https://apple.news/AHSgS7q5-Qz-hSar7U6Wzww

The treatment is moving onto larger scale clinical trials. If these are successful, then this would be given to people with coronavirus symptoms in order to hopefully stop them from going to hospital.

Very promising development, in my opinion!

Sounds great, but not everyone can have steroids/anti-inflammatories especially those with kidney disease have to be careful. Jess isn't allowed them.

Looking at the protesters in London Trafalgar Square today just shows that some people just don't take this pandemic seriously, as well as they are helping the spread of the virus, I bet that these people will be emptying the supermarkets on the way home, complete selfishness

Best conspiracy i heard so far. (They need to write sci fi)

The illumimasons are making a move to take over the world. They released a manmade virus that is designed to remove the weak and drains on rich.
All masks have nano bots impregnated on to them.
And when we breath in then the nanobots are released into our bodies to meet up in the brain and change it so we don't realise a super secret joint organisation is taking over the world.
The covid app is collecting our views of the virus and conspiracies so they can analyse them and send instuctions back to the nanobot via the bluetooth connection.

I want some of whatever they were on when they came up with that.
