It seems stock isn’t actually low, tests are available to order today. The issue was Royal Mail (and potentially other staff) capacity to collect them from the distribution centre and deliver them.I think this is ridiculous, how did the government not notice there stock was getting low? If they did why didn't they put a few weeks of temporary restrictions on who can have them in place until they'd got enough tests? It's just so frustrating.
That being true I take back my comment about stock but I still think there's a level of incompetence from the government here. They should be in constant talk with the delivery companies to know what capacity they have so they can adjust for it and possibly bring in other companies to help with the deliveries. It seems stock isn’t actually low, tests are available to order today. I had a family member in a flap yesterday about that.It seems stock isn’t actually low, tests are available to order today. The issue was Royal Mail (and potentially other staff) capacity to collect them from the distribution centre and deliver them.
Personally and this is based on no actual scientific fact, just what I've seen happen in the history books.
This almost seems like the start of the end of COVID. History has shown time and time again, as we get the upper hand in pandemics, they get massively more transmissible to attempt to survive as their potency is reduced.
I predict, in 12 months. Covid will almost and finally be a thing of the past. Could be sooner we will see. But I think and most importantly hope, this is the start of the end.
Ah no, sorry to hear that Matt. If the PCRs come back positive you'll all be self-isolating through Christmas. After managing to avoid it since April 2020, we’ve finally had another probable brush with COVID.
My sister came home from university today feeling unwell and exhibiting COVID-style symptoms (achy, temperature, generally virus-like symptoms). Her boyfriend has also been feeling similarly unwell (but produced a negative lateral flow test) and someone she was at a party with on Tuesday tested positive (unsure if they used lateral flow or PCR). She took a lateral flow test this evening, and it almost instantaneously went positive; no lag period here! As such, her and my dad have now both got PCR tests booked for tomorrow.
So it looks as though we may be self-isolating for the 3rd time during the pandemic if she gets a positive PCR (we self-isolated twice way back during lockdown 1; first time was a false alarm before we even went into lockdown, second time was when my mum actually tested positive at around Easter time); I guess we did pretty well to avoid it for a year and 8 months after our first encounter, what with some of the rough COVID periods we’ve had like last winter.
Ah well; what can you do, I guess?
If she does test positive, I’m intrigued to see whether I get it (very likely), as well as whether I show symptoms (less likely; I was asymptomatic during our first COVID encounter in April 2020, and I’m now triple vaccinated. I should also note that I got a lot closer to my mum the first time than I’ve gotten to my sister today) and whether anyone else in our household shows symptoms (my sister is the only one of us who isn’t triple vaccinated, for what it’s worth).
Out of interest, was this ever confirmed? But your forgetting one thing, this virus was made in a lab.

Sorry to hear that @Matt N if you need any support my DM's are always open.
Sorry to double post, but; thanks both. I do appreciate the support.@Matt N same here.
But your forgetting one thing, this virus was made in a lab.

No it wasn't. It's never been proven. Some people have their own theories but there's other theories that are just as plausible.
It of course was never confirmed but the fact all of the papers were burned and the scientists amazingly disappeared plus the fact it just happened to start in a city with a massive virology lab all point in one direction.
Sometimes if you put two and two together you get 4 but I’ll put it out there it’s just my theory just to make it clear.
There is no evidence the virus was “created” in a lab, and it certainly hasn’t got any unusual capabilities compared to other coronavirus’s that would point to human tinkering.
Now it could have been isolated from the wild and been studied in a lab and then got out (and therefore getting a virus out into the middle of a city rather than slow burning out of the wild), I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case at all.
I put money on it being created in a lab. Let’s see how best to collapse the west but cause chaos. Then get the Russian military set to invade Ukraine and the Chinese set to invade Taiwan at the same time next year. Meanwhile the west strolled with crippling debt and Covid. Sounds like a pretext to a massive global war to me and if Covid was natural I’ll eat my hat!
