When they do eventually announce the closure I hope they are prepared as the MAP’s will want a refund or pass freeze...

I would defo want a refund or at least a freeze. I'll be expecting the same from National Trust and English Heritage.
 
Humbled seeing how small businesses - especially independent cafes and shops - are rising to the challenges posed by this situation. Like most cities across the country, York is like a ghost town at the moment but many of its coffee spots are already offering contactless delivery/collection options. Please, if you can afford to, don't forget to take advantage of these options and support the businesses in your community!
 
Going to be an interesting few months for us all, better fasten our seatbelts as this has escalated very quickly. I can see the country going into lockdown soon sadly now they're saying one in 50 families will lose a loved one.

In what way do you mean? I'd imagine that this pandemic will definitely change the way we think about hygiene and disease management, but the government's business-related announcements should help soften the blow to businesses to an extent, and their announcements for renters should help soften the economic blow.
 
Feels like some eerie cloud out and about on the streets today.

I said on here weeks ago that I would would still visit theme parks etc, not taking it seriously but it didn’t feel like reality at that point. Now I won’t be visiting, I don’t want to add risk infecting old & vulnerable ones. Even the ones that push in at bus stops cos they’re old and stubborn.

In that I think the world will be in a state of shock, sorrow and sadness from the people who have been lost and the struggles we have had to face.

I think the economy will be the last thing on people's minds once this is over to be honest.

Going forward I hope it brings the world closer together, makes people respect each other again and value life, and makes countries realise they need to stay making things again and being less reliant on China!

I already know of one person who was on the point of retiring, but has had to stay at work because of the share crash, equities shafted at the last minute.
Possible inflation due to shortages.
High unemployment.
Many house reposessions.
Cafes, bistros, wine bars and florists going bust.
Many thousands of bodies stored in refrigerated trailers on car parks for months, or years.
Mass graves in some towns as a last resort.
Thousands of operations being cancelled or postponed for a year or two.

And i think thats just a start. i think things are going to change ALOT in the future. its a future that im really not looking forward too at the moment

If she has an inhaler get her to keep using it. I would also call 111 for advise of just go straight to 999 of she is really struggling

Jesus wept. Is it being so cheerful that keeps you going?

Stay positive. Things will get better. This is still a very small percentage of our country. It feels so much bigger because its all anyone is talking about.

99% of people will be fine. We are going to lose some elderly and sick people. It's incredibly sad but life isn't a bed of roses all the time.

Can't be defeated mate. Come on.
