Drayton Manor Park

So far it can go over the top backwards, go over forwards, drop backwards and drop forwards

Edit

And watching footage it seems to do the “reverse” down the lift hill at standard drop speed and launched also.

I noticed they're calling it the UK's longest family coaster, how the hell are they defining that?
On their Twitter post they’ve also claimed it has the “UK's First backward launch into outdoor gravity track”

I’m not sure what exactly that means as both Revolution and Mandrill Mayhem feature a backwards launch.

Wow that's some really desperate scrabbling around to try to claim something vaguely marketable.

Clearly they're using the word outdoor to exclude Thirteen's backwards "launch". It also seems they've added the word gravity to discount the backwards launches on both Rev and MM. Are they trying to argue that neither of those has a lift hill so don't have gravity track? If so, I'm pretty sure that's not how physics works.

Don't forget Thirteen!
Edit: ah, good point there Duckman.

It’s either the longest track length or longest time of ride… I don’t see how it can be either though. I suppose if operations mirror The Wave then you will technically be on the ride for 10 minutes.

My enthusiasm has certainly dampened for this one (the 1m height restriction hasn’t helped) but we shall see.

If the height restriction is 1m, then this is looking to be quite an impressive ride for that height restriction demographic! My favourite UK coasters I can think of with a height restriction that low are Storm Chaser and Flight of the Pterosaur at Paultons Park; if Gold Rush is anything like as good as those family coasters, then I think Drayton are onto a winner!

1m is a pleasant surprise; I was honestly anticipating 1.2m. Not that it really affects me either way, being a 5'10" adult with no kids... but I think it's nice for younger kids to have access to something of this calibre!

Given the amount of ride sequences possible they could set a special sequence that goes over the lift hill, or back and forth from the launch to the lift to get longest ride time.
Obviously it would only be able to be that setting when it is very quiet on park, but certainly possible.

Advertising a ride like that seems likely to backfire imo. You can't claim a "record" feature that only a tiny portion of riders will actually experience. Any other family coaster could just add a cycle on for one single ride and claim the "record" as their own. Just send Mandrill back and forth a few times.
