Flamingo Land: General Discussion

Thing is though, most visitors will go by website and leaflet picture and adverts (if they bother to update them...) and all they will see is something that looks a little like air, and a spinning coaster. Whether they return having ridden is an entirely different matter.
Well that's the issue, surely soon enough no amount of marketing will help them due to their constant additions of mediocre attractions, poor operations and awful service. Build something decent, then people may well come, remember, and then visit again.

But as others say, they've got far more pressing issues to deal with. Their staff are shocking. Sort that out, and sort out the horrible feeling once it approaches 5pm (rides closing early even though they had signs saying to tell management if they do when i visited) then everything bar HBL closed - including the gift shop.

Awful, awful park.

Wait, they actually had signs telling you to grass on the staff to the managers? :p Only at Minger Land!

that's poor by anyones standards!

It's a small park. Why don't management do a quick lap round every ride at 5pm and 'close' each one individually?

I think sometimes people need to take a step back and realise how successful a place is on a business level and put yourself in the average guest's point-of-view.

If you can accept it isn't a place you're never going to get an amazing ride experience then I don't see a problem with the place.

It is what it is - by far the most popular park in the northern half of Britain. It is extremely well known and has a high return rate among guests and holiday makers.

We settle for second best far too readily in the UK. I don't have a huge problem with Flamingoland, and compared to what it was in the late eighties, it has come on in leaps and strides. Truth of the matter is though, when you work in a customer facing industry, service is king. 1.4m people is a decent number of visitors, but who is to say that given the comparative lack of competition, that figure shouldn't be double that, if rides were themed and maintained (look at Rattlesnake at CWoA, compared to the outgoing wild mouse at FL), and staff generally didn't look at visitors as there to inconvenience them.

They'd do far better if they treated the park and their custom with respect.

God knows why people return, dunno how anyone could possibly have a great day out there, at least for it to be worth the money.

Hope Flamingoland have seen Mitch Hawker...and realise what a terrible mistake they are making: ;)

Of course they won't mind. Didn't you all know the public don't care for quality attractions? A ride is a ride, be grateful, they're getting loads, etc, etc... ::)

As a self-confessed Towers.....well, lets say I'm not its biggest fan, I am in all honisty looking forward to the Smiler, it looks a great coaster! Bring it on!

Flamingo Land has fanboys?

I thought we all went our separate ways and agreed never to talk of those days again after Talk Flamingo closed its doors. ;)

Hero is the absolute worst name for a ride ever.

Unless it's named after the time-travelling Japanese guy 'Hiro' from Heroes in which case it's awesome.
