Such a shame about Saurez, he has such a talent, that is ruined by these incidents.

What makes it worse is that he is denying it, and his team mates are supporting him. It is still a terrible thing he has done, but it would of at least helped a little if he had come out, admitted what he had done, and made a public apology.

The fact his fellow team mates are also defending him is embarrassing for the team. The video evidence is clear, the coach should of sent him home, and his team mates should not be supporting him.

Punish the team, not the player, and he will soon change the way he behaves, as people will stop wanting him in their team, and he will lose his big pay checks each week. Even if he gets a 20 match ban from all games, you still know that come the end of the ban, he will be in the starting line up of Liverpool, or a transfer target for a top European team. They may think twice about playing/signing him, if there is a threat they will get a 10 point deduction if he does something like this again.

I also find it amusing that Godin scored the winner for Uruguay against Italy, and if he had been correctly sent off against England, things could of been very different. What Ifs and Buts make for interesting speculation :)

The fact that he and Uruguary are denying it and acting as if nothing happened is just making it worse. He's claiming that he was cuaght in the eye or something, well why did he go down holding his mouth and teeth? The pictures are pretty damning. How the defence can state the the TV footage is inconclusive is beyond me. It would be better for him and the team if he just admitted that he did it, that's sorry and knows he has a problem that he really wants to try and sort. Denying it makes it seem like he doesn't care, never learns and will just go and do it again in the future.

Thought this was brilliant

Not at all surprised that Suárez got banned for four months. The terms of his ban state that he can't train with Liverpool at all during that time, and can't go within the confines of any stadium at all during that time either! I'm surprised it wasn't longer, but he's been banned for nine international matches as well, so he'll miss the rest of the World Cup at a maximum of four matches, and at least another five after that.

Really, it's a 2 month ban as Uruguay are probably going to be knocked out by Colombia and then there are 2 months of no games anyway so in terms of club football, he'll miss about 13 games, 3 more than the second time.

The funniest thing about this, his fine is less than what Bendtner got for showing his boxers.

Oh, the fine is ridiculously low. I would've set it at a much, much higher level, but he's on an extremely high amount every week, so it won't make much difference anyway!

Also, good news for Man United fans. Ander Herrera, the CM we tried to sign on deadline day last year has completed his move and Luke Shaw is scheduled to undergo a medical tomorrow. Signing players in June?! This hasn't happened for a while.

I think you're right, Ted. He's a good player, and should do well at United, but we've paid way too much for him.

If he flops, it's a lot of money, however if he fulfils his potential and is with United for let's say 10 years, that price would have been more than justified, like Rio. That said, United are going to have to pay inflated amounts this window anyway as clubs know we need players and that we have the money for them.

Ok sorry let him bite people it's alright he's only done it 3 times

will leave this here anyway

When did I say it's ok to bite people? Kamara is a disease. As is that video. It's up there with 'trespassing Terry'.

Now THAT'S what I call a comeback! Completely unexpected from the Dutch! I'm gutted for Mexico, as they did well throughout the game, but that's football for you - a game can be turned on its head in just a few minutes.

Not many managers would bring off a striker like Van Persie in that situation, but it worked. Cracking end to the game. Feel for Mexico but they switched off and that's when the best teams will kill you.

What a match last night between the USA and Belgium. The extra time was brilliant...

If America in general still doesn't 'get' football after that then there's no hope!

It was thrilling, especially extra time. At 2-0 I thought it was all over but the USA would not lie down. I actually thought they were immense last night considering most of their players are somewhat unknown. Michael Bradley was top class in midfield. A lot of the "lesser" nations have done themselves proud in the last 16.

Really looking forward to the quarter finals now. France vs. Germany should be a cracker!
