General Queue Times Discussion
I think it will be on 2 as its just a busy day. Smiler on 100 and Wicker man 90, there's clearly high crowdsRita is on 80 mins. Are they running on one train or are the operations really that bad?
Yes probably it just seems a little high to me. I would never queue that for Rita.I think it will be on 2 as its just a busy day. Smiler on 100 and Wicker man 90, there's clearly high crowds
I really varies across the whole country. I think most schools will be back by the second week in September. What date do all schools go back? 2nd week of september? I can't wait to check out how much of a difference it makes to queue times.

Schools in the Staffordshire and Derbyshire areas are due back on Thursday 2nd September.
Yeah I imagine most are. A lot of people travel from all over the country to go to AT but I imagine the local school times makes the biggest different to park attendance.

Im going on the 24th September which is a Friday so I'm expecting a moderate crowd level but nothing too extreme.

Why moderate? Kids will be at school and it is a weekday. Surely it will be really quiet? I'm going the week before on the 17th and tried to pick the quietest day possible.

I’m headed on the 12th & 13th September; I’m anticipating that Sunday 12th September will be pretty busy, but Monday 13th September could be quite quiet, what with the kids being back at school by then (they should have started by 13th September, shouldn’t they?).
Ah, the wonders of not starting uni until 20th September…

A Friday won't be really quiet, Oktoberfest Fridays weren't really quiet last year, by moderate I mean queues between 20-40/50 minutes or so, it won't be <20 minutes all day I'd assume. Friday is also usually the busiest "school day" of the week. Why moderate? Kids will be at school and it is a weekday. Surely it will be really quiet? It's never under 20 mins on any day these days. I'm just thinking especially as it's Oktoberfest as well, it won't be crowds of this level honestly, but I think it'll be one where if you time everything correctly, you'd be able to wait less than 30 minutes for everything most likely.
The days of really quiet died with the cheap season passes. Why moderate? Kids will be at school and it is a weekday. Surely it will be really quiet? I'm going the week before on the 17th and tried to pick the quietest day possible.
University students aren't back, lots of people still out of the office, September weekdays with good weather are rarely very quiet.

So should I push back our trip until October (as long as it isn't half term)? I thought scarefest was the busiest time?

I wouldn't, it'll be a nice crowd level where you can comfortably get everything done I'm pretty confident with. I don't know if you're looking for everything being walk on or there or thereabouts but that won't be the case whenever you decide to go most likely. I'd stick with September 17th, you'll be fine.So should I push back our trip until October (as long as it isn't half term)? I thought scarefest was the busiest time?

Usually, the quietest week is the one before scarefest, but the cheap season passes changed everything.
Are there still many cheap passholders left, or have they timed out yet?

Didn't the Alton Towers season passes expire in July, except for the people who deferred the 2020 passes til 2021.
