Liseberg: General Discussion

Been on park today and had a very good day. Plenty of re-rides, although the park was reasonably busy. It’d be nice to see single rider queues on more than just the one coaster though.

Only annoying moment was at about 5pm Helix went from a 3 train to 1 train operation and the queue shot up to 60 mins. An hour later they put another train back on and then it broke. Luckily it opened back up at 7ish and managed to get three rides.

I was there Friday and Saturday and, although the Friday was totally dead in fairness, it was disappointing to see them remove trains on the major coasters (Valkyria three to two, Balder and Helix two to one) as the day progressed, resulting in short waits for each. It seems you experienced similar.

Saturday on the other hand was rammed. Up to two hours for major rides (Helix was on two that day as well but I'm pretty such they're having major issues with the third train, plus with the seatbelt faff now it doesn't alter throughput much anyway).

“seatbelt faff” a very good expression I experienced quite a lot today on Helix and Balder. Talking of Balder, I didn’t think it was as great as I remembered. Does it run slower nowadays? I thought it’d warm up, but it didn’t and thought it trundled round the turns.

Would they push the button on a second hotel before they’d even got the first one built and run in? It’d be a bold decision if that was the case.
This is the park that built Helix... I think bold is in their DNA!

Does anyone know if helix has or was ever intended to have on train audio. I noticed the speakers on it on my visit but was a little disspaointed there was no on train audio. Would be great to have that awsome soundtrack pumping out as you ride.

I’m sure it was quoted when it open that they chose the lighting rather than the audio on the ride.

Also there definitely could have been audio, as the video that got released when the ride opened with the IMAscore soundtrack dotted perfectly to the ride.

They have the grills on the train for speakers but guessing that they have no drivers behind them, imagine that they opted for that so they could add in audio in the future if they wish.

I'm sure there were rumours that in the rides second year they intended to add the onboard audio, along with completing the waterfall which was meant for where the ride passes the large amount of rockwork.

Not sure how true that is though, so take it with a pinch of salt!

I'll absolutely be requesting a room on any floor other than the ground floor to make use of that lobby slide!

In other news, Andreas has returned to the position of CEO and president following his departure in April.

More than 300 applicants applied for the position but, as Liseberg’s chairman Christer Holmgren, said, Andreas Andersen is the best.

On the announcement of his reappointment, Holmgren said: There were many good candidates among those who applied, but Andreas is the best in the industry and meets all the criteria we had set for the position.

“We are extremely happy to be able to connect with him again.”

Am I being thick or is it not possible to purchase tickets on the Liseberg website?

I've selected the All In One Halloween Pass but there's no way to actually buy it.

I think there may be a bug in the English language version of the site, try the Swedish version
