I would have considered as a new story that the monster is now effectively evolving, that it has now become after 30 years half monster and half machine joined together. If they are sticking with the ret-conned version of the story with the track being the steel that is holding it down, then the story will likely be that the Monster is evolving, growing stronger and the new Black steel is reinforced, stronger material that is needed to restrain it.
I suspect the characters from the "Goodnight Nemesis" video will feature prominently in the new Sub-Terra story.
The building looks like an absolute state. It needs a full repaint! The Phalanax logo is half missing on the exit corridor container.
They'll probably only run it for one season whilst Nemesis is down then scrap it. I understand not many have been on this ride, but for me it's very average. The building looks like an absolute state. It needs a full repaint! The Phalanax logo is half missing on the exit corridor container.
Depends what they are investing in I guess? There’s no way they are re investing in this for one year to then just scrap it. If it returns, it’ll be here to stay this time I firmly believe. If you’re gonna just re invest for one season (which won’t happen) it’s probably not even worth it - capacity or no capacity.
That's my thinking, patch it up for a year with the ride staff that were operating Nemesis then see how it goes. It's not like they've totally refurbished the building anyway, which it probably needs in the long term.I believe the fact that they won’t need to staff Nemesis in 2023 will go someway to paying for the staff for Sub Terra without increasing the overall wage bill.
Its existence beyond 2023 will probably come down to a mixture of budgets and how well it’s received this year. If it gets poor feedback again, it could be up for the chop. Hopefully not though.
They can also use it to convey Nemmy's new story. I have a feeling that "John Dalton" (the head of the Phalanx, who appeared on video at the closing event) could feature in the new pre-show video. Would make sense given the way the story appears to be going.Seen no evidence of real expenditure so far, but there could be of course.
There will be a loss of over 1000 people per hour capacity with Nemesis closed, Sub-Terra is being revived purely to try and mitigate that somewhat. However, it could remain open into 2024 depending on its ability increase the all-important "rides per guest" metric these days.
